This article chiefly discusses the British policies on domestic Jews from17-19Century, including admission policies, social policies, and political policy. The articleis consisting of the Introduction, text, and summary.Introduction describes the present situation of the academic research at home andabroad, outlines the purpose and significance of the topic, summarizes thecharacteristics and innovations of this paper.The body part includes the following four chapters:The first chapter introduces the British admission policies towards the Jews.After the expulsion of the Jews since1290,Britain began to admit Jews in themid-17th century, it related to changes in the social environment and religious ideas,and the British authorities are also friendly to the Jews, and then coupled with theeconomic value of the Jews themselves, all contributed to the British began to admitthe Jews proactively.The second chapter outlines the British social policies towards the Jews. Whichmainly include economic policies coexistence of protection and limitations, morerestrictive regulations of education, religious regulations coexistence of tolerance andexclusion, and so on. These policies reflect the changes in the treatment of BritishJews citizenship issues,it can be seen the Britain established Jewish social statusgradually.The third chapter outlines the British political policies towards the Jews,Whichinclude naturalization policies and public office policies. The British politicalrestrictions on Jews have existed for a long time, which is to be the last obstaclerestricting Jewish to be British citizens. Until the mid-19th Century, Britainintroduced the Jewish Relief Act and subsequent policies, then solve the politicalrights of the Jews, finally give the Jews full civil rights.The fourth chapter analyzes the impact of the British Jewish policies. On the onehand, these policies have a great influence on the increase of the Jewish population,and also gradually raise the status of the Jews; on the other hand, these policies helpto promote the Britain’s economic development, and also contribute to the realizationof equal rights. In conclusion, The British Jewish policies have a distinct British characteristics,and all policies can be implemented steadily, overall it’s a process of gradualdevelopment. The policies have a win-win effect for both Jews and British society.
