The African-American in American society suffered the injustice of discrimination and oppression a long time. African-Americans made sustained efforts and struggles to extricate the identity from the slavery, to change the situation from "isolated" to "break isolation", to eliminate discrimination and oppression, to integrate into American society, to get not only legal but the freedom and equal rights in fact. After a century of black civil rights movement, the African-American achieved the liberation of black slaves and broke isolation, and finally achieved self-worth of black. Several African-American civil rights leader based on their historical background and social conditions, combined with the theoretical achievements, concised civil rights thought with clear characteristics, including struggle object, tasks, power and ways. They guided the movement in the different stages, pushed the black civil rights movement forward. And actually established the social basis, provided a useful reference for the latter struggle.
