Book And Non-book

Books contain information and bookbinding specialize in the artistic form of thebook and the general design of its content. It is not only about function but moreimportantly, the art of binding meets the need of aesthetic appreciation.Non-book directs to artworks on book of Contemporary Art, which is usuallyused by artists to do research on the possibility of books. Along with the developmentof art, non-book works turn into various forms which could be divided into carriersand elements.This paper begins with the evolution, carriers and binding method and developsinto artworks about book(non-book) of modern art, by which I try to emphasize theinternal relation between book and non-book on materials, characters, colours, figures,layouts and forms and to discuss their differences, artistry, similarity and tolerancefrom their connection with drawings and reading patterns, so as to eliminate people’smisunderstanding of "form rather than content" about artists works on books. Also, Iquote a big deal from bookbinding works from past and present and from China andoverseas and non-book works of Contemporary Art along with the communicationwith acquainted artists and designers and experience from my own graduation work, Itry to provide a kind of possibility for the development of books.
