A Comparative Study Of The Farmer Theme Creation Between Sholokhov And Chen Zhongshi

As the bottom class of the society,the peasants is also an important part.Sincevery early it has came into the literature writing.Compared to the city,because of theless contact with the outside world,since ancient times rural areas is a symbol ofocclusion.So the farners must have a unique thinking about the society and history.Atall the times,there is a large number of literary works related to the rural areas andfarmers in the world.At the same time,war,revolution,reform,as a driving force in society,affectingevery social life.So a lot of writers pay their attention to war and revolution writing inand out of China,to record the influence of such historical turning point for societyand people.This paper will combine the two study,focus on Russian and Chinese peasantstheme creation tradition,pay attention to Sholokhov and Chen Zhongshi’s writingabout the farmers and contrast of them.The subject of the paper is to compare and analyze the similarities anddifferences between Sholokhov and Chen Zhongshi’s writing.The two writers arewriting locked in the countryside,at the same time,their writings described theimportant historical period during the war,revolution and reform,but there are alsodifferences.This paper is divided into three parts,the first part tells the typical environment ofthe two writers and the special period in common.Both the two writers have nativecomplex,they choose their hometown to be the place where the fictions describe.Atthe time of the selection,they choose the turbulent period of transition in the history ofChina and Russia.The second part is mainly compare and analyze the two types of farmers in theirwritings.One is living in the chaos of war and revolution time;another is the farmersin the process of reform.Analysis on the first type of farmers concentrated on Gregoryand Heiwa.Analysis on the second type of farmers concentrated on the 《Virgin SoilUpturned》of Sholokhov and the later works of Chen Zhongshi.The third part is mainly about the human nature.About the writers——the starting point of humanise,fully demonstrate the complexity of human nature andexpounds the unique aspect of human nature in their works.The present academic circles for farmers research focused on the politics,historylevel,study from the angle of literature is less.For the two writers,more researchfocused on the characters,environment and so on,little research on peasants.This papermainly adopts the parallel research method,and involving politics,history,aiming at thecontent of this thesis is to enrich the research field about farmer theme creation.
