The question of the nature of man is an important part of Marx’s philosophical thought, and it is impossible to truly understand Marx’s communist doctrine of the free and comprehensive development of man without understanding Marx’s ideas on the nature of man. However, due to the transformation of Marx’s own philosophical position in different periods, his discourse on the nature of man shows a complex and fluid overall character in different early writings,so the perspective from which Marx’s thought on the nature of man is understood becomes the key to the study. The article argues that Marx launched an existential revolution in the understanding of the question of human essence, and by emphasizing the fundamental role of perceptual activity,Marx put an end to the traditional metaphysical understanding of human essence in the abstract.Western traditional philosophy is an epistemological philosophy characterized by "seeking knowledge" and "explaining the world".It pursues the eternal existence of ontology and interprets the whole world with the metaphysical way of thinking of "either this or that, and the two poles are opposite".This way of thinking of seeking the abstract "ontology" has led traditional human science into the theoretical dilemma of breaking away from real life.Marx reversed the traditional philosophy’s metaphysical pursuit of unchanging ontology from the perspective of perceptual object activity-practice,and established the "thinking mode of practical viewpoint" on the basis of eliminating the "entity ontology",thus realizing the revolutionary transformation of philosophical thinking paradigm. The change of philosophical world view makes Marx understand the practical generation of human nature based on the perceptual object activity, thus pulling the abstract interpretation of human nature from traditional ontology philosophy back to the realistic perceptual world, and finally establishing the historical materialism theoretical horizon of human nature research. Therefore, this paper insists on understanding Marx’s problem of human nature from the perspective of Marx’s philosophical revolution, and believes that Marx really grasped the problem of human nature on the basis of the ontological revolution based on perceptual activities, and ended the abstract stipulation of traditional metaphysics on human nature in the logic of thinking. In the specific content of the article, the first chapter is the introduction, which mainly introduces the theoretical status of the research on human nature at home and abroad; The second chapter analyzes the theoretical origin and realistic background of the ontological revolution of Marx’s human essence; The third chapter analyzes the interpretation dilemma faced by traditional ontology philosophy in the study of human nature; The fourth chapter combs the discussion of Marx’s early text on the essence of human beings, and analyzes the specific connotation of Marx’s essence of human beings in different text contexts from Marx’s philosophical standpoint in different periods; The fifth chapter, based on the text content of Marx’s exposition of human nature, explains the specific connotation of the ontological revolution of Marx’s thought of human nature; The sixth chapter analyzes the logic of the ontological revolution of Marx’s thought of human nature, criticizes the view of human nature in traditional epistemological philosophy based on the ontological revolution, and understands human nature from the ontological standpoint of practical activities; The seventh chapter discusses the value implication behind the change of Marx’s human essence thought, and confirms the influence of Marx’s human theory on the people-centered development thought in contemporary China in a practical sense.
