“Forever Young” which was his first novel, was finished by Wang Meng in1953and his life seemed to be forged a bond with the "youth". Since then, he praised,reflected and memoried on youth, which each stage was performed the incisively andvividly. Although experienced “Distraugnt season” and "Hesitated season",he hadnever deviated from his youth. The pursuit of youth as Belief not only made him moreenergy and enthusiasm than ordinary people, but also more curiosity, courage anddetermination to the unknown world. The Fiction, Poetry, Prose, Essays, Commentswere directions of his making efforts, and thus the born of the Stream ofConsciousness, Free style, Allegorical fables,Ci Fu body language provided anexcellent opportunity to display his abilities.“The relentless pursuit and explorationmade him become one of the most dynamic,the most successful and most creativespirit of an athlete on literature”.In his60-year writing career, a large number of works on youth were followed,such as "Forever Young",“An Incoming Young of Organization Department” in the1950s;"Sea of Dreams "," Kite Streamers "," A Changing Human Figure " of1980s;“season series”“from1990s. Ongoing youth creation not only made him differentfrom Ba Jin, Cao Yu and other predecessors, but also unlike his generation. Hisnarrative themes of youth closely linked to his life experience, he created a highlypersonalized youth interpretation. Whether good or bad in the eyes of critics, insidebrushwork was Wang Meng’s and the same is true of the content.For the concept of "youth", this paper is not intended to use the age on biologicallevel as a distinguishing point, and tend to apply the verse by German poet Samuelullman to understand,“Youth is not a time of life; it is a state of mind; it is not a matterof rosy cheeks, red lips and supple knees; it is a matter of the will, a quality of theimagination, a vigor of the emotions; it is the freshness of the deep springs of life”. In other words, the youth should be the young state of mind and continuously pursuit,forever upward state of life. It is in this broad definition that the paper can includedifferent youth’s attitudes exposed to Wang Meng to analyse and researchsystematically.Structurally, the paper consists of six parts: introduction, four chapters andepilogue. The first three chapters is basically expanded in three stages of the youthcreation of Wang Meng (1950s,1980s,1990s). Each chapter is divided into threesections and the first two focuses on the analysis of the text in order to reveal thechanging track of Wang Meng’s youth creation themes; the third lays on the researchof cultural context exploring deeply psychological implication and internalcontradictions behind the evolution of youth creation theme in the various periods.The introduction part leads to the concept of “youth” on the base of teasing the historyof youth literature, and make a brief description of the function of the narrativeperspective as the main analyzing methods; The first chapter,"sacrifice perspective:poetry and confusion of youth," interprets poetic pursuit of youth in the1950s andencounters the contradictions and difficulties following the arrival of the next day ofthe "revolution" by two aspects "passion burning years" and "the variation of youthgrowth "; The second chapter,"seeking perspective: without regret and reflection ofyouth", through the analysis of Wang Meng’s cultural mentality in the1980s, one sideto reveal his stick and helpless of loyalty and ideals at this stage, the other side tap hisreflections of past youth on political and cultural levels; The third chapter"deconstructive perspective: retrospection and transcendence of youth", it is thatexploring melting pace to once construction youth myth in this stage and containingdiversified ideas by analysing the deconstructive and nostalgia factor of the culturalcontext in the1990s. The fourth chapter,"the youth narrative of Wang Meng’s novels:dislocation and consistent", in the first place, his entire youth narrative context isplaced in the framework of literary history,and next through the transversecomparison of Wang Meng and other writers’ youth writing at a time, finding theexistence of some "dislocation" phenomenon; Secondly, based on vertical control tothe youth novels of Wang Meng,finding the existence of "a consistent tendency" and which results in some kind of limitations and further revealing the existence of"mental set ".
