"’Princess Cruise’Journey" is a project China Travel Service of Dalian had signed to the Carnival Corporation, which is the biggest cruise corporation in the world. CTS of Dalian are responsible for the Dalian part of the whole tour, and the duration for tourists from the cruises to visit Dalian is from March to May each year. The author had been selected from many as a tour-guide interpreter to take part in the project in the year of2013.The author had provided interpreting services for the visitors of12cruises during the two months, in cooperation with the Chinese tour guide. And the author was mainly responsible for the "Scenic Dalian" groups, in which visitors could enjoy the main scenic spots of Dalian, such as Renmin Road, Zhongshan Square, Green Mountain Viewing Platform, Zhongshan Road, Xinghai Square, Binhai Road, Beida Bridge and the Tiger’s Beach. The Author had not only interpreted for visitors, but also served as a tour guide, which had gained appreciation and favorable comments from both the CTS and the guests. However, the author had also encountered some difficulties in the process of interpreting.This article is written in the form of project report. Problems and difficulties that the author had met in the tasks are listed, such as inappropriate interpreting tone, description unfamiliar to foreigner guests and use of complex and bloated words. The author also gave solutions respectively, according to her own study experience. The author hopes to apply what she had learned to practice, and as well, to do her bit for improving tourism in China through this project.
