With ever-deepening and broadening globalization and rapid development ofeconomic integration in this21st century, exchanges and dialogues among countriesare growing in frequency. Interpreters, as bridges and bonds, facilitatecommunications amongst people speaking different languages. When there are onlyone or two foreigners, or for the sake of cost saving, some conference venues maynot be equipped with simultaneous interpreting facilities. This is the time whenwhispered interpreting is usually adopted.When drowned in the information flood during the process, interpreters areexpected to know how to tackle the difficulties and problems such as raising thevoice suitably under noisy circumstance, choosing something mild or soft to avoidconflicts when vulgar languages are involved, striking a balance between note-takingand short-term memory etc. Composed of five chapters, this practice report is basedon author’s hands-on experiences as well as previous studies of others.
