In China, many enterprise publicity materials have a large number of empty, flowery descriptions, and translators translate these materials word by word loyally, making readers hardly understandable. Due to the cultural differences between Chinaand the West, the western readers can not understand the original contents. Under theguidance of Skopos Theory, the appropriate usage of deletion can not only convey theoriginal information effectively, but also make the translation more succinct and easyto understand. This thesis, taking SANY Group’s company profiles for example, discusses the application of deletion in the C-E translation, aiming to help translatorsget rid of shackle of the original texts, and provide useful information for thetranslation of enterprise publicity materials. The thesis is divided into five chapters.
