Based on the translation of “Planning Proposals—Specifications of EarthworkConstruction” and under the guidance of Functional Equivalence and Skopos theory,this paper analyzes the value of parallel texts presented in the application in non-literarytranslation from the perspectives such as vocabulary, sentence and narration, and provesthat parallel texts can make up for the translators’ inadequate knowledge about a certainfield and enhance the translation quality at the same time. This paper also summarizesthe influence on this translation practice brought by parallel texts after the discussion ofapplication methods of parallel texts.
