At present, the educational system of vocal music in China puts more emphasison the specialized capability than on the comprehensive capability of students. Thus, the three singing styles, namely, bel canto, folk singing style and opera stylehave been isolated from each other;moreover, the performance and singing ofOperatic Musicals have not been varied. However, Chinese Butterfly, for instance, has realized,to a very high degree, the integration of the three singing styles. Thispaper takes Chinese Butterfly as the study case, and focuses both on the analysis ofthe personality and emotion of the characters, and on the analysis of the stageperformance, such as singing, dances and performance. The paper aims to elaboratesthe teaching mode of Professor Wu Xiuzhi, which advocates,in terms ofperformers, the trinity of singing, dancing and performance;which advocates,in termsof singing, the trinity of bel canto, folk singing style and opera style;whichadvocates,in terms of dance, the trinity of folk dance, ballet and modern dance;andwhich advocates,in terms of drama force, the trinity of Stanislavski system,Brechtsystem and Mei Lanfang system. This "Trinity" teaching mode not only enhances thecomprehensive ability of the students, offering them more opportunities of art practice, but also bring out more music talents with comprehensive abilities and more originaland creative art work for entertaining the masses and serving the society.
