Clinical Observation On Scalp Electroacupuncture For Treatment Of Poststroke Depression

Objectives:To Observe the curative effect of Scalp electroacpunc t-ure on post-stroke depression(PSD) and observe the therapy effect on ne-urologic impairment and self-caring abili-ty which based on Scalp electr-oacupuncture therapy.Methods:60 case of PSD were randomly divided into Scalp electr-oacupuncture group (treatment group) of 30 case and a western medicine group(control group) of 30 case。The two groups were given similar trea-tments for stroke, with Scalp electr oacupuncture added in the treatment group, Fluoxetine in the Western medicine group。Before and in the end of treatment, we assessed ADL by Barthel index(Barthel), degree of neu-rological deficit by the Modified Scandinavian strokescale(MESSS) de-pressive symptomatology by Hamilton depression rating scale for depres-sion(HAMD).and Rating Scale for Side Effects (SERS) for side effectsResults:1.HAMD and MESSS scores decreased in the treatment group and c ontrol group, The scores of HAMD and MESSS of two groups have sign ificance difference before and after treatment (P<0.01). The treatment g r-oup and the control group compare the difference not to have the signific-ance difference (P> 0.05); The scores of BATH decreased in two group- s,and it have sig-nificance difference before and after treatment in two groups (P<0.01).The two groups compared the difference not to have the significance difference (P> 0.05)2.Treatment group anti-despondent total efficiency rate was 86.7%, control groups was 80.0%, Both compares the difference not to have the significance difference (P>0.05); Treatment group nerve function recover-y total efficiency rate was 93.33%, control groups was 90.00%, both nerv e function recovery compares the difference not to have the significance difference(P>0.05)3.The SERS score of treatment group is short in the control grou-p,both differences have the significance difference (P< 0.01)Conclusion:1. The results suggest that Scalp electroacup-uncture can relese depressive symptomatology of post-stroke significanty2.It can improve PSD patients’quality of daily life and neurological function。3.it is safe and have non-toxic side effect.
