Objective:On the basis of the review of the study and progress in treatment of optic atropy both in traditional medicine and western medicine.,we observed the therapeutic effect of combination therapy on optic atrophy.Methods:60 patients(87 eyes) in optic atrophy were randomly divided into two groups.30 patients(45 eyes) had been treated mainly with guihong injection combined iontophoresis of galvanotherapy and acupuncturing treatment in the observed group, the other 30 patients(42eyes) had been treated with routine therapeusis in the control group. In Clinical Practice, there are no differences in commeasurable analysis. The control group was treated with energy mixture and troxerutin injection by intravenous drip, vitamin B1 and vitamin B12 injection by intramuscular route.On the basis of convention therapy western medicine,the acupuncture therapy and iontophoresis of Chinese herbs were given to the treatment group.The decision indexes about efficacy include:visual acuity, visual field, visual evoked potential(VEP) etc.Results:Both of the two methods have curative effects.There are differences of all the indexes of the two groups before and after treatment(P<0.05).In clinical practice, comprehensive therapy is superior to routine western medicine treatment (P<0.05).Conclusion:Comprehensive Therapy can significantly improve the patients’ visual function and could be more effective than Routine Western Medicine in treatment of optic atrophy.The combination of the methods of administration and treatment can increase the local drug concentration and reduce side effects.So,we get a new thought of therapy for optic atrophy and achieve our anticipated goal.
