Objective:To understand current nursing undergraduates in general self-efficacy and interpersonal communication ability level, introduce and application in nursing interpersonal communication course challenges type teaching, demonstration challenge teaching on students’ self-efficacy and interpersonal communication ability. That teachers in nursing the cultivation of student’s ability to cause enough attention, and to reflect on the teaching process, improve the quality of teaching. Challenge the experience type teaching application and Suggestions, in order to further improve the teaching method for theoretical reference basis.Methods:This subject adopts the questionnaire, literature analysis, interview method and control experiment study and other qualitative and quantitative analysis method of combining the study. Among them, USES the questionnaire of nursing undergraduate students’ self-efficacy and communication conditions were investigated. In the intervention study, select a certain medical university nursing school students of class a(34) as intervention group, another class(34) as control group, intervention group adopted challenge type teaching, the control group with traditional teaching, the teaching task is done, compare the difference between before and after the intervention group intervention,intervention group and control group in students’ test scores, self-efficacy and communication skills, using SPSS17.0 statistical software for statistical analysis.Intervention group selected 10 in-depth interviews, collecting data, extracting themes.Results:1. The results of the survey: the general self-efficacy of nursing students in our university grade-point average(24.79 ±4.53), lower than the adult norm general selfefficacy(29.46±5.33), the difference was statistically significant(p < 0.05); Undergraduatenursing students interpersonal communication ability 63.30±6.10, total 79.13% of the theoretical maximum 80 points.2. Intervention results: before and after the intervention intervention group students practical ability, self-efficacy, communication ability score significant difference(p <0.05); Intervention group and the control group students practical ability, self-efficacy, and communication ability score significant difference(p < 0.05).3. Interview result: the team teaching with student to challenge the identity, said the challenge is the classroom is full of interest, harvest a lot in class, communicate with classmates collaboration is self value again.Conclusions:1. The general self-efficacy of nursing undergraduate level is not high.2. Nursing undergraduate students’ interpersonal communication ability in the medium level.3. The application in nursing interpersonal communication course challenge type teaching, help students practice ability, general self-efficacy, the improvement of interpersonal skills.
