ObjectiveTo evaluate the clinical curative effect of closed prying reduction and cannulated screw internal fixation in treatment of intra-articular fractures of pediatric calcaneus, broaden the clinical treatment of the pediatric calcaneal fractures, and provide certain experience for the choice of operation method.MethodsFrom October 2008 to September 2014,18 intra-articular fractures of pediatric calcaneus in our hospital were treated by closed prying reduction and cannulated screw internal fixation,to be the minimally invasive grou;During the same time,12intra-articular fractures of pediatric calcaneus were treated by open reduction and plate internal fixation,to be the open reduction group. The 30 patients were followed up for12-26 months(means 19.2 months).Record the indicators related to the operation, preoperative B?hler angle, postoperative B?hler angle, postoperative foot function score(according to the AOFAS scoring system),and the wound complications of the two groups, then analyze statistically these recording data upside.ResultsThe indicators related to the operation of the minimally invasive group were significant lower than those of the open reduction group, difference was statisticallysignificant(P<0.05).The postoperative B?hler angles of both groups were obvious recovered compared with preoperation, difference was statistically significant(P<0.05).The postoperative B?hler angle and postoperative foot function score between the two groups had no significant difference(P>0.05).The risk of wound complications of the minimally invasive group was lower than that in the open reduction group, but it had no significant difference(P>0.05).ConclusionsThe surgical method of closed prying reduction and cannulated screw internal fixation in treatment of pediatric calcaneal intra-articular fractures of sanders type Ⅱ orⅢ can also achieve satisfactory curative effect, and it has the advantages of short operation time, small trauma, less bleeding, less postoperative wound problem compared with the operation of open reduction and plate internal fixation. This is the advantage of minimally invasive technique in the treatment of pediatric calcaneal fractures.
