The number of AIDS patients infected through male with male same-sex sexual behavior is continuing to increase in recent years. The MSN HIV victims, as a special vulnerable group,receive more and more attention of the society. They have to suffer the pains of this incurable disease as well as the double discrimination from the community as the homosexuality and AID patients. Therefore, compared with the groups infected with other diseases, the MSM HIV patients are more prone to become psychologically vulnerable and produce negative emotions which are harmful to health.With the medical personnel at Y hospital and the workers of A institution as the main research object, this thesis will apply the practical intervention theory of emotion management to propose the research questions, observational and interviewing method to collect related materials on the emotion management service from the caring AIDS workers including the medical personnel at Y hospital and the workers of A institution and introduction method to card and analyze these materials to study the manifestation and source of the negative emotions from the MSM HIV victims. Combining the theory of related emotion management with the practical situation of Y hospital, the author of this thesis employs the Gross emotional management model and theoretical emotion therapy to card and present the intervening method provided by the Y hospital. Finally,the author arrives at the conclusion that the emotional intervention with the MSM HIV patients contributes to reducing their negative feelings, increasing their initiative to seek medical service,and improve their survival quality through the patients’ self-evaluation and peer assessment.
