Objective 1.Investigate the status of medical students’ emotional management ability and analyze related factors.2.On the basis of relevant factors,combined with the theoretical framework of the health belief model,formulate a health education strategy for emotional management of medical students,carry out health education,enhance the health beliefs of medical students’ emotional management,and improve their emotional management ability.Methods 1.Current stage of investigation: 1053 persons of 2014-2017 full-time undergraduate students in clinical medicine,preventive medicine,traditional Chinese medicine and health management of Hainan Medical College were selected by stratified cluster sampling method,and 1022 valid questionnaires were finally collected.(Efficiency 97.1%).The survey was conducted using a self-compiled general situation questionnaire,a medical student’s emotional management health belief questionnaire,and a medical student’s emotional management ability questionnaire.Multivariate linear regression model was used to analyze the related factors of medical students’ emotional management ability.2.Health education stage: According to the analysis of the current situation,53 medical students were selected as subjects of health education intervention.Based on the relevant health belief factors of emotional management ability,the intervention plan based on the health belief model was formulated.The form and content of health education includes health education materials distribution,lectures,group counseling and peer education.The duration of the intervention lasting for 6 months.The health beliefs and emotional management ability of the subjects were evaluated before and after the intervention.The effect of the intervention was analyzed using a paired t test.Results 1.The results of the survey of emotional management ability of medical students showed that the average score of the emotional management ability questionnaire of 1022 subjects was(17.99±5.26).Among them,those with better emotional management ability(12-24 points)accounted for 87.9%,the average person(24-36 points)accounted for 11.3%,and the poor(≥36 points)was 0.8%.2.Univariate analysis showed that:(1)differences in emotional management ability scores among different physical health conditions,mental illness status,mental illness status of immediate family members,interpersonal relationship status,father’s education level and maternal education level All were statistically significant(P < 0.05).(2)There were statistically significant differences in the scores of emotional management ability between the different scores of health beliefs(P<0.05).3.Multiple linear regression results showed that the subjects’ mental illness status,maternal education level,and “perceived obstacles”,“perceived susceptibility”,“selfefficacy”,“internal reward” and “external return” of health beliefs Dimensions are related factors of their emotional management ability(P<0.05).4.After receiving health education intervention,the subjects’ emotional management ability questionnaire scores were lower than the pre-intervention scores,and the difference was statistically significant(P<0.001).In terms of changes in health beliefs,after the intervention,the subject’s health belief questionnaire total score,and the scores of five dimensions such as "perceived benefits","perceived obstacles","perceived susceptibility","internal returns" and "external returns" five the dimensional scores were lower than the pre-intervention scores,and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.01).The scores of “perceived severity” and “self-efficacy” were not statistically significant before and after intervention(P>0.05).Conclusions 1.The related factors of emotional management ability of medical students include mental illness,mother’s educational level,and the dimensions of "perceived obstacles","perceived susceptibility" and "self-efficacy" of health belief.2.The health education strategy of emotional management based on health belief model can effectively enhance medical students’ perception of the benefits,obstacles of good emotional management,and perception of negative emotional susceptibility,and reduce their awareness of the internal and external returns of bad emotions.
