Efficiency Of Modified Electroconvuisive Therapy Combined With Paroxetine For Depression With Attempted Suicide

Objective : To evaluate the efficacy and safety of modified electroconvuisive therapy combined with paroxetine in the treatment of depression patients with attempted suicide.Methods:128 cases of depression patients with attempted suicide were collected in this study. Patients in observation group were treated with modified electroconvuisive therapy combined with paroxetine, and patients in control group were treated with paroxetine. Respectively before and after treatment, HAMD-17, Beck score, and adverse reactions were observed in the process of two kinds of therapy, the efficacy and safety of two kinds of treatment methods of evaluation.Results : After treatment, the patients in observation group with HAMD-17, Beck score evaluation results were 19.65±7.43,9.19±3.47, they were improved compared with scoring 24.62±4.57,12.43±5.28 before treatment, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).After treated 2weeks, 3weeks, 4weeks, the HAMD-17 and Beck scores were better in observation group. The effective percentage of patients in observation group(96.9%) is higher than patients in control group(90.6%); The complete recovery rate in observation group is 62.5%, which is higher than 34.4% in control group, the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05). The adverse reactions in two group respectively were 39.06%,35.94%, the difference was no statistical significance(P>0.05).Conclusion : Modified electroconvuisive therapy combined with paroxetine in the treatment of depression patients with attempted suicide is superior to the single effect of paroxetine, and does not increase the risk of adverse reactions, is safe and effective in the combined application.
