Objective: To compare curative effect of SDS and common traction treatment on lumbar disc herniation, and analysis paravertebral muscle surface electromyographic signals, to explore SDS’s effect mechanism preliminarily. Methods: Selected 60 patients with lumbar disk herniation in Rehabilitation Department of the Second Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University and Kuanren Rehabilitation Hospital from June 2015 to February 2016. Divided them into non-surgical spinal decompression group and common lumbar traction group randomly, with 30 cases in each group. Before, during and after the first time treatment, after a period of treatment, surface EMG telemeter was used to measure affected side paravertebral muscle surface electromyographic signals. And VAS and CODI after a period of treatment were observed. Results: After a course of treatment, VAS and CODI of two groups both became lower, and non-surgical spinal decompression group were significantly lower than common traction group(P<0.05).Compared with AEMG before the first time treatment, the AEMG of non-surgical spinal decompression group during and after the first time treatment had statistically significant(P<0.05), while common traction group had statistical difference during the first time treatment(P<0.05), but not after the first time treatment(P>0.05). The AEMG of non-surgical spinal decompression group were lower than common traction group, during and after the first time treatment, and after a course of treatment(P<0.05).Conclusion:Compared with common lumbar traction, non-surgical spinal decompression treatment has better benefit overall; And it can effectively relax paravertebral muscles, which may be one of the mechanism of better effect.
