Purpose: To investigate the levels of vitamin D3 and the severity of asthma in adult patients with bronchial asthma(asthma), asthma inflammation index, correlation of pulmonary function,s airway obstruction, airway responsiveness index and control level after treatment, compare the difference of vitamin D3 levels between asthma patients and healthy group and the changes of vitamin D3 levels before and after treatment.Hope to assess the condition of adult bronchial asthma, airway anti-inflammatory therapy to help, and to provide a theoretical basis for the treatment of vitamin D3 may become a new adjuvant treatment of asthma.Methods:(1) 76 cases of adult patients with asthma, 66 cases of adult health examination. Evaluation of clinical manifestations in patients with acute exacerbation of asthma, blood samples were taken and 25- hydroxy vitamin D3, eosinophils, neutrophils, C- reactive protein, total Ig E, arterial blood gas analysis and pulmonary function tests(FEV1, FEV1, /FVC, MMEF, AHR).To assess the severity of the disease. The differences of 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 and healthy control group in asthma group were compared; 25-hydroxy vitamin D3 and eosinophils in asthma group, neutrophil, C- reactive protein, total Ig E, pulmonary function tests FEV1, FEV1/FVC, MMEF, AHR correlation.(2) Asthma patients according to the " Asthma guidelines(2013 edition)" for the diagnosis and treatment of bronchial asthma standardized spasmolysis, antiasthmatic and antiinflammatory treatment. After three months, patients were followed up to control the level of grading, to determine the level of 25- hydroxy vitamin D3 again, to investigate the correlation between the level of 25- hydroxy vitamin D3 and the level of control after treatment in patients with acute episode of asthma; Comparison of 25- hydroxy vitaminD3 levels in the standardized treatment of asthma before and after three months, to determine whether there is no statistical significance. Results: 1.Asthma group(76 cases) plasma vitamin D3 level(ng/ml) was 24.91 + 8.53, healthy control group(66 cases) plasma vitamin D3 level was 51.08 + 18.16, the plasma level of vitamin D3 in asthma group was lower than that in healthy control group, after statistical treatment, there were very significant differences between the two groups(P < 0.01).2. Plasma neutrophil count, eosinophil count, C- reactive protein and plasma total Ig E levels were increased during the acute episode of asthma, compared with the healthy control group, the levels of plasma eosinophil count, C- reactive protein and total plasma Ig E levels were significantly different(P < 0.05), there was no difference in the level of neutrophil count(P > 0.05); Vitamin D3 levels were negatively correlated with the number of eosinophils, C- reactive protein and total Ig E, Pearson correlation coefficients were-0.79,-0.70,-0.89; Vitamin D3 levels were not correlated with neutrophil count. 3.The level of vitamin D3 in patients with acute exacerbation of asthma was positively correlated with FEV1%,FEV1/FVC and MMEF levels of lung function, the correlation coefficients of Pearson were 0.82, 0.78 and 0.86; Negative correlation was showed between vitamin D3 and improvement amount/ the improvement rate of FEV1 of bronchial dilation test, Pearson correlation coefficient was-0.947. 4.The severity of asthma was graded according to the severity of the disease, and there were significant differences in the levels of vitamin D3 in patients with mild, moderate, severe and critical grade four levels(P < 0.05). After two two comparison, there were significant differences in levels of vitamin D3 in different groups(P < 0.05).And the level of vitamin D3 decreased with the severity of the disease, and had a correlation between them.5. Plasma vitamin D3 levels were correlated with the level of control after standardized treatment of three months in patients of asthma, there was significant difference in the level of vitamin D3(P < 0.05) between the three groups of patients with different control levels. After two two comparison, there were significant differences in the levels of vitamin D3(P < 0.05), the lower level of vitamin D3, the worse level of asthma control in different control levels. 6. Compare the level of vitamin D3 of pre treatment and after the standardized treatment of asthma for three months, vitamin D3 levels after treatment were higher than before treatment, there were significant differences between them(P < 0.05).Conclusions:1. Plasma levels of vitamin D3 in asthma group were lower than that in healthy contrast group; 2. Plasma vitamin D3 levels were negatively correlated with the levels of eosinophils, C reactive protein and total Ig E in the acute episode period of asthma, which was not correlated with the neutrophil count; 3. Vitamin D3 levels were positively correlated with the levels of FEV1%, FEV1/FVC and MMEF in patients with acute episode period of asthma, and negatively correlated with the amount of FEV1 in the bronchial dilation test; 4. The level of vitamin D3 decreased and the severity of asthma was related to the severity of asthma in acute episode period; 5. Plasma levels of vitamin D3 in asthma patients were related to the level of control after standardized treatment of three months. The lower the level of vitamin D3, the lower the level of control; 6. The level of vitamin D3 in the patients with asthma after standardized treatment of three months was higher than the acute episode period.
