Objective Primary bronchial lung cancer has become one of the most common and most malignant tumors in the world. Epidemiological characteristics of lung cancer is changed with the change of time and space, the purpose of this study is through the analysis of the differences in Yan’an area from 2004 to 2013 in lung cancer were age, gender, the incidence of lung cancer sites and pathological types, to the popular trend preliminary understanding in Yan’an in primary lung cancer and for etiological study of lung cancer to provide clinical data.Methods Statisitical analysis of the clinical data of patients with newly collected lung cancer in the Affiliated Hospital of Yan’an University, Yan’an City People’s Hospital, Baota District of Yan’an City Hospital, and Yan’an Boai Hospital from January 2004 to December 2013.Results The number of lung cancer cases increased year by year, the number of male cases and the number of cases increased year by year. Average age of 59.40 + 10.54, age contrast t=180.57, P < 0.01; sex ratio was 3.09; diseased parts than the right lung left lung, upper lobe rather than under the leaves; non small cell lung cancer and small cell lung cancer rates were 78.68% and 21.32%. In all the pathological type of lung cancer squamous cell carcinoma incidence was the highest(45.67%), the number of cases increased year by year, followed by adenocarcinoma incidence rate(28.04%), number of cases is also increasing year by year, and in 2013 for the first time more than squamous cell carcinoma cases. The incidence of small cell lung cancer(21.32%) and the incidence of other pathological types(4.97%).Conclusions The incidence of primary lung cancer in Yanan area has increased significantly in 10 years. The number of male patients is higher than that of female. Need to carry out a wide range of smoking cessation education, strengthen environmental awareness, should be caused by a wide range of attention.
