Objectives:1.To investigate the prevalence rate of irritable bowel syndrome(IBS) of medical staffs in Taiyuan.2.To explore the features of IBS in medical staffs.3.To analyze mental health status in medical staffs with IBS.On the basis of these theories,providing theoretical foundation for the prevention and treatment of IBS.Methods1.The stratified sampling and cluster random sampling methods are used in this survey.987 medical staffs of emergency department,Intensive Care Unit(ICU),internal medicine and surgry in different levels of hospital inTaiyuan were selected.IBS was diagnosed according to the Rome Ⅲ criteria.The Rome Ⅲ adult FD diagnosis questionnaire(ROME Ⅲ-DQ) and psychological symptoms self rating scale questionnaire(SCL-90) was applied in the investigation.Compare the mental health status of the IBS group and the norm group.2.The data were analyzed by SPSS 17.0.Choose statistical methods according to measurement data or count data. “ Rate ” was used to describe the count data and sx ± was used to describe the count data.The difference of measurement data was detected by t test and analysis of variance. The difference of count data was detected by x2 test.Results:1.A total of 987 medical staffs were surveyed.Female were 580(58.76%) and male were 407( 42.24%) separately.Aged from 18 to 60 years old,average age was(34.64±11.39)years old.There were 581 medical staffs of the third-class A hospital(58.87%) and 406 of grade 2A hospital(41.13%),525 doctors(53.19%) and 462 nurses(58.87%) separately.2.Of the investigated 987 medical staffs,210 were diagnosed with IBS according to the Rome Ⅲ criteria with an prevalence of 21.28%.The prevalence in female was higher than that in male(24.13% vs 16.95%).Ages from 25 to 39 had the highest prevalence,which was 31.26%.The prevalence in doctors was higher than that in nurses(24.76% vs17.32%).The prevalence in primary title was higher than that in intermediate title and high academic title(25.10% vs 18.33%,13.58%).The prevalence in the third-class A hospital was higher than that in the grade 2A hospital(28.06% vs 11.58%).The prevalence in the emergency department,ICU was higher than that in the internal medicine and surgry(54.76% vs 17.42%,22.08%).The prevalence in 5 to 9 work seniority group was highest in all grade(31.38%).IBS-C was account for the most in the four kinds of IBS parting(71.43%),IBS-D second,then IBS-M and IBS-U,the prevalence was 19.52%,8.10%and 0.95% separately.The IBS parting had no significant difference among the IBS group with different gender and age(P>0.05).3.Compared with the norm,the total score,number and the average score of the positive items,somatization disturbance,obsessive-compulsive symptom,depression and anxiety on the SCL-90 of IBS group were higher,the difference has statistic significance(P<0.05).Conclusion:The prevalence of IBS in Taiyuan is high in mdical staffs,affected by multiple factors.The prevalence was higher in female,doctors,the third-class A hospital,the emergency department,ICU,junior medical staff.Medical staffs with IBS had poor mental health status,mainly in the following respects:somatization disturbance,obsessivecompulsi-ve symptom,depression and anxiety,we should pay more attention.
