Analysis And Efficacy Of Acupoint Catgut Embedding In Treating Postpartum Obesity

Purpose:To investigate the clinical efficacy of catgut embedding treatment of postpartum obesity, and objectively analyze the role of catgut embedding in postpartum obesity.Method:50 cases were all from Nanjing Mingji Hospital from April 2015 to January 2016. Patients were divided into two groups with randomized controlled methods:simple obesity group and postpartum obesity group,25 patients in each group. All patients received catgut embedding therapy. We measured weight, BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference before and after treatment, and each patient was measured four times, averaging the observed values. We compared the indicators of catgut embedding in postpartum obesity before and after the treatment, and analyzed the clinical efficacy of acupoint embedding therapy in postpartum obesity. SPSS 17.0 software was used for statistical analysis.Result:Catgut embedding showed a therapeutic effect on simple and postpartum obesity. There were significant differences in body weight, BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference, WHR, thigh circumference, basal metabolic rate, fat rate after treatment (P<0.01). The clinical effectiveness of postpartum obesity was significantly higher than simple obesity (P<0.05).Conclusion:Catgut embedding have a therapeutic effect on simplel and postpartum obesity, mainly in reducing weight, BMI, waist circumference, hip circumference, WHR, thigh circumference, basal metabolic rate, fat rate. Catgut embedding has an effective treatment for postpartum obesity, which indicates a potential therapeutic effect of catgut embedding on postpartum obesity.
