Observation On The Clinical Effect Of Acupoint Catgut Embedding In The Treatment Of Simple Obesity Of Spleen Deficiency And Dampness

Objectives To observe the therapeutic effect of acupoint catgut embedding on simple obesity with spleen deficiency dampness and its effect on blood lipid.Methods We have selected 60 cases of simple obesity patients with spleen deficiency dampness who were treated in the acupuncture-moxibustion department of the second people's hospital affiliated to Fujian University of Traditional Chinese Medicine from October,2016 to October,2017.Then,these patients were divided into two groups on average by random number table:acupoint catgut embedding group(hereinafter referred to as "embedding group")and Chinese medicine group.Both groups have received basic treatment(diet control and doing exercise).On that basis,the embedding group have carried out the treatment of acupoint catgut embedding in the acupuncture points of Zhong wan,tianshu(double),shuifen,daimai,qi hai,guan yuan,zu san li(double),Yin ling quan(double),fenglong(double),san Yin jiao(double).The treatments were carried out once for every 14 days,twice for a course of treatment.On the other hand,the Chinese medicine group took the Shenling baishu powder and fangji astragalus soup for the treatment once a day,28 days for a course of treatment.Each group was treated with one course of treatment.To observe and record the weight,BMI,waist circumference and blood lipid changes before and after treatment,and to evaluate the efficacy,contrast the differences between the two groups.SPSS21.0 software was used for processing and analysis of data involving statistical analysis.Results 1.Weight,BMI(body mass index),Waist circumference:To contrast the weight,BMI(body mass index),waist circumference before and after treatment,the differences are statistically significant(P<0.05).2.Blood lipid:To contrast the serum triglycerides,total cholesterol,low density lipoprotein cholesterol,and high-density lipoprotein cholesterol before and after treatment,the differences are statistically significant(P<0.05).But the difference between two groups after treatment is not statistically significant(P>0.05).3.Comparison of the clinical efficacy:the response rate of the embedding group is 78.57%and the Chinese medicine group is 53.57%.To contrast the clinical efficacy after treatment,the difference is statistically significant(P<0.05).Conclusions 1.The weight,BMI and waist circumference of patients with simple obesity were alleviated by means of acupoint-catgut embedding and by the combination of Shenling baishu powder and fangji astragalus soup.The former is superior to the latter.The means of acupoint catgut embedding is more advantageous in the treatment of patients with spleen deficiency dampness.2.The blood lipid status of patients with simple obesity were improved by means of acupoint catgut embedding and by the combination of Shenling baishu powder and fangji astragalus soup.
