| ObjectiveThe study assess and Meta analysis the effectiveness of the treatment of Acupuncture and Moxibustion on Acute Ankle Sprain with the methods of evidence-based medicine from Cochrane Collaboration, to provide the evidence for the acupuncture therapy for patients with acute ankle sprain and advice for clinical trial.MethodsWe searched randomized controlled clinical trials (RCT) from China National Knowledge Infrastructure (CNKI) Database, China Biology Medicine disc(CBM), China Science and Technology Journal Database(CSTJ), Wan-Fang(WF) Database, Chinese Clinical Trial Register (ChiCTR), MEDLINE(PubMed), Cochrane Library. Literature bolting was performed by 2 reviewers independently according to the standard of in and out, different opinions should be solved through negotiation. All included literatures were assessed with Risk of improved Jadad Scale.Search and identify the randomized controlled trials (RCT) about Acupuncture and Moxibustion and Modern Medicine on Acute ankle sprain, statistical software RevMan 5.3 was used for data analysis. Systematic Reviews and Meta analysis for cure rate、obvious effective rate、good improvement rate、 total effective rate were used to compare the efficacy of Acupuncture and Moxibustion in Acute ankle sprain.Results8 literatures were included for Meta-analysis. There is one high-quality RCT reference,1 medium quality RCT reference,6 low quality of RCT references. 1 paper adopts computer random method and reported in detail the random implementation method and process of random hidden by the envelope method; 1 piece used simple random.without detailed random method, random hidden by the envelope method; 6 documents only marked "random".without specific random scheme and randomly assigned to hide.1 article for outcome measurement and implementation of blinded clinical trial data statistics, the other 6 references did not mention the blind method.8 articles are all outcome data, only 1 reference report lost to follow-up and fall off cases.Meta analysis results:The forest plot shows that in the process of the treatment of acute ankle sprain acupuncture cure rate、good improvement rate、 total effective rate are higher than conventional treatment.ConclusionMeta-analysis of cure rate of Acupuncture and Moxibustion for acute ankle sprain suggests that acupuncture treatment is much more effective, so acupuncture intervention in treatment of acute ankle sprain is recommended. The quality of randomized controlled trials needs to be improved. |
