Objective:To observe the the clinical efficacy and safety of the treatment of Behcet’s disease with damp-heat toxin accumulation syndrome by the Modified Simiao Yongan Tang.Methods:50 patients coming from China academyof Chinese medical sciences Xiyuan hospital Zhou Caiyun chief-physician’s outpatients and hospitalized patients in department of rheumatism from March 2015 to March 2016, were divided into chinese-western medicine group and Chinese herbal medicine group accoding to whether taking western medicine or not. The Chinese herbal medicine group were treated by the modified Simiao Yongan tang for 4 weeks, whereas the Chinese-western medicine group were treated by the original western medicines plus the modified Simiao Yongan tang for 4 weeks. Before and after the treatment, observe the symptoms and signs score changes, record the laboratory indicators, safety indicators and adverse reactions, and analyse the results finally. Results:The symptoms and signs scores’comparisones within group pre and post treatment shows that the differences in total integral, oral ulcers, skin lesions, joint pain, irritability and general fatigue have obvious statistical significance, and the differences in bitter taste, dry stool and thin stool of the Chinese herbal medicine group have obvious statistical significance, and the differences in vulva ulcers, mental fatigue, dry-mouth, insomnia and dreaminess have obvious statistical significance. The symptoms and signs integral of post-treatment is significantly lower than that of pre-treatment, indicating that the two groups both have effect in the improvement of the symptoms and signs of BD patients. The laboratory indicators’comparisones within group pre and post treatment shows that the erythrocyte sedimentation rate has no significant difference in the Chinese herbal medicine group, and has significant statistical difference in the other group, and the C-reactive protein has no significant statistical difference in both groups. The total efficiency of the Chinese herbal medicine group is 82.60%, and the other group is 88.50%, which has no statistical significance. By comparing the deviations’values of the symptoms and signs integral between groups, it is found that there is no significant statistical difference between the two deviations’ values of the total score of the two groups. The increase of the thin stool score integral of the Chinese herbal medicine group is more than that of the Chinese-western medicine group, indicating the Chinese herbal medicine group could induce the defecation of the patients. The rest deviations’ values have no significant statistical difference. The deviations’values of erythrocyte sedimentation rate and C-reactive protein of the two groups have no significant statistical difference after treatment. In terms of security, the Chinese-western medicine group may cause hepatic injury and leucocyte count raise, and the Chinese herble medicine group has higher safety. Conclusion:The use of the modified Simiao Yongan tang in the treatment of Behcet’s disease can achieve curative effect with high security and worth of clinical application.
