Objectives:Define the application effect about continue nursing of cancer patients in Peripherally inserted central Catheter (PICC). By using continue nursing on PICC catheter of cancer patients, the ability of self-management and the resilience could be improved. The continue nursing could reduce the incidence of catheter complications. As a result, the life quality of patients could be improved, and it will also provide a sample for the implementation of continue nursing in hospitals. Methods:The method of this study is convenience sampling method. We choose 75 patients who were in the project of PICC catheter and all of them were discharge from hospital with the catheter on from one of the first-class level hospital. Then allocated them randomly into 37 intervention groups and 38 control groups. The control groups used conventional nursing method after patients were checked out. Differ from the control groups, the intervention groups adopted both conventional nursing method and continuation nursing intervention. After gathering those data, we use SPSS 17.0 to do statistics analysis. Make use of percentage to describe the research objects’social demographic characteristics. By using independent sample t-test to check the differences between intervention groups and control groups about the PICC self-management ability, the resilience and the living quality. Take advantage of chi-square test to compare the incidence of catheter complications from two groups.Results:1. The comparison of homogeneity test:Before using continuation nursing intervention, there were not significant difference between scores of intervention groups and control groups in General information, PICC self-management ability, mental flexibility level and quality of life, two groups have no statistic significance(P>0.05).2. The comparison of PICC self-management ability:The intervention groups and the control groups score comparison in before and after interventions have statistic significance (P≤0.05). After using continuation nursing intervention, the PICC self-management ability of the intervention groups and the control groups are (152.22±4.41) and (130.09±6.67) respectively, these differences have statistic significance (P≤0.05). The increase of PICC self-management ability are(54.78±4.60) and(33.27±6.03)respectively, these differences have statistic significance (P≤0.05).3. The comparison of resilience:The intervention groups and the control groups score comparison in before an after interventions have statistic significance (P ≤0.05). After using continuation nursing intervention, the resilience about the intervention groups and the control groups are (79.44±3.81)and (66.36±7.94) respectively, these differences have statistic significance (P≤0.05). The increase of resilience are(25.11±4.82)and(13.27±7.56)respectively, these differences have statistic significance (P≤0.05).4. The comparison of living quality:The intervention groups score comparison in before and after interventions has statistic significance (P≤0.05), the control groups score comparison in before and after interventions has no statistic significance (P>0.05). After using continuation nursing intervention the quality of life about the intervention groups and the control groups are (76.85 ±10.85) and (61.36±11.94) respectively, these differences have statistic significance(P≤0.05). The increase of living quality are(17.59±10.58)and(3.03 ±5.62)respectively, these differences have statistic significance (P≤0.05).5. The comparison of incidence of catheter complications:After using continuation nursing intervention, the catheter complications about the intervention groups and the control groups are 5.4% and 23.7% respectively, these differences have statistic significance (P≤0.05).Conclusion:1. Continue nursing could improve the ability about self-management of PICC catheter of cancer patients.2. Continue nursing could improve the resilience of PICC catheter of cancer patients.3. Continue nursing could improve the living quality of PICC catheter of cancer patients.4. Continue nursing could reduce catheter complications of PICC catheter of cancer patients.
