The purposes of this study is to explore the sleep quality among the factory workers in the Guangxi province. In order to improve their sleeping quality and have better health and to improve the efficiency of work. Objective and Methods:Multi stage stratified cluster sampling method was used to investigate about 2254 workers in Guangxi from July 2015 to August 2015. Totally 2213 questionnaires were withdrawn and the qualified efficiency rate was 98.18%.General questionnaire information was used to investigate Pittsburgh sleep quality index, mental health status and family APGAR index.Result:Sleep quality index of 1.2213 workers (PSQI), The total score was (5.25±2.88), the normal sleep quality pattern 1781 workers (80.4%), abnormal sleep quality pattern 432 workers (19.5%).The psychological disorder is the risk factor of sleep quality, The PSQI score of the mental disorder group was 7.34±3.44.2. Chi-square test was used to analyze enterprise workers of different genders, age, educational qualification, habit of drinking and smoking, pattern of sleep, work activity, BMI, Hypertension, fasting blood sugar and serum triglycerides were not related to PSQI score, but different ethnic group, working hour, working shift, mental disorder group, family care group and exercise were related to PSQI score.3. In some other areas high risk factor (such as age), but in our study it is not significant. The results showed that the age of workers was affected by the time of sleep, sleep efficiency, sleep disorders, and the total score of PSQI (P<0.05). lower age higher score of sleep time and sleep efficiency and lower t score of sleep disorders. Sleep disorders, subjective sleep quality and daytime disorder are the three factors that affects the sleep quality. Heavy physical activities have the highest score that affects the quality of sleep.4. Logistic regression analysis shows sleep quality scores were different in different ethnic groups. Among Han and Zhuang ethnic group, sleep quality is higher in Han group and working hours, mental disorder, high cholesterol level, age and sleep quality scores were positively correlated, the negative co-relation was in between family care, physical exercise.Conclusion:1. About 1/4th of the worker in the enterprises has sleep quality problem.2. Sleep quality has no significant correlation with gender, age, educational background, family housing area, habit of smoking and drinking, short nap, working activity, BMI, Hypertension, fasting blood sugar and triglycerides, and it has significant correlation with different race, working hours, shift of work, family care group, mental disorder group and physical exercise.3. Workers in the enterprises, most of them have abnormal sleep quality due to mental disorders. The effect of mental disorder on sleep quality is not unidirectional, they are mutually influenced.4.Sleep quality problem can affect the physiological, and psychological health of the workers, reduce work efficiency. The enterprises should pay enough attention to improve the sleep quality, thus the following recommendation are made to improve the sleep quality①Improve working environment for the workers②Establish and improve health record of the workers③ Counselling and psychological education at regular interval④Improve and reform management.
