Objective:To investigate the correlation of the CD 14 promoter gene-159(C-T) polymorphism with EH-LVH in China Yanbian area.Methods:We conducted two case-control research, one contains 331 volunteers which are all korean nationality patients including 116 EH-LVH and 107 EH-NLVH and 108 normal controls, the other one contains 311 volunteers which are all han nationality patients including 103 EH-LVH and 100 EH-NLVH and 108 normal controls. CD 14 promoter gene-159(C-T) polymorphism was analyzed by polymorphism chain reaction (PCR). Left ventricular mass index (LVMI) was measured and calculated by echocardiography. Body mass index (BMI), blood pressure(BP), fasting blood glucose(FBG), triglycerides(TG), total cholesterol(TC), low density lipoprotein (LDL) and creatinine(Cr) were documented.Results:The genotypes in korean between EH-LVH group and EH-NLVH group, there is significant difference between two groups(P>0.05). In han nationality, there is also significant difference between two groups. In EH-LVH group, The TT homozygous genotype was obviously higher than the EH-NLVH group and normal control group both in korean and han nationality(P<0.05).Conclusion:(1) The distribution of CD14 promoter gene-159(C-T) polymorphism has significant relation with EH-NLVH both in korean nationality and han nationality of Yanbian area. (2) The TT genotype is a susceptibility gene for EH-LVH in Yanbian area. (3) Systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure is the risk factor of EH-LVH.
