Objective:By collecting the related cause of traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) on patients with chronic pelvic pain (CPP) and healthy people, and the traditional Chinese medicine four diagnostic methods of patients with CPP, to find out the etiology and types of TCM in Female Patients with CPP. The results could provide clinical theoretical basis for prevention of CPP onset and reference for evidence-based medicine. Methods:According to the book of Etiology and pathogenesis of traditional Chinese medicine and literature of TCM, both ancient and modern, designed the TCM etiology investigation questionnaire. We have chosen the gynecological outpatients and inpatients with CPP from Guangdong Provincial Hospital, and the healthy women, to complete the questionnaire. Besides, we have collected the traditional Chinese medicine four diagnostic methods of patients. Made up a data base of the date with Microsoft Excel and analyzed the date with SPSS 18.0.Results:1. Comparing differences between the CPP group and the normal group, the results showed there have significant differences(P<0.05) in degree of education, the length of stay in air conditioning in summer, wearing bare midriffs or backless dress, participating in water activities, swimming, hot spring, swimming during adolescence, irritability, fear, depression, anxiety, negative emotion in puerperium, eating cold food during menstruation, addicted to a certain taste, the total amount of daily staple food, postpartum tiredness, the time to go to bed, frequency of sexual intercourse, sexual intercourse during menstruation, the number of abortions, uterine cavity operations, pelvic and abdominal operation.2. Through binary logistic regression analysis, the results showed that the length of stay in air conditioning in summer, wearing bare midriffs or backless dress, depression, anxiety are risk factors for the onset of the CPP (P<0.05, OR>1). While the total amount of daily staple food was protective factor for the onset of the CPP (P<0.05, OR<1).3. In the 137 cases of patients with CPP, the main types of TCM was qi depression to blood stasis accounted for 24.81%, qi-blood deficiency accounted for 13.87%, Kidney deficiency and blood stasis accounted for 10.95%, qi deficiency and blood stasis accounted for 10.95%, asthenia of essence and blood accounted for 9.49%, cold coagulation and blood stasis accounted for 8.76%, cold-damp coagulation accounted for 6.57%, damp heat and blood stasis accounted for 6.57%, spleen deficiency with dampness and blood stasis accounted for 4.38%, deficiency-cold syndrome accounted for 2.92%, liver depression and spleen deficiency accounted for 2.19%.4. This survey showed that patients under the age of 40 give priority to excess syndrome; the main types of TCM was qi depression to blood stasis of the patients among 21-40 years old (28.57%); patients above 40 years old of Kidney deficiency and blood stasis accounted for 33.33%. Through chi-square test, the results suggested P<0.05, the difference was statistically significant. Through chi-square test, the results suggested P>0.05 between syndrome type and the course of the disease, western medicine etiology.Conclusion:1. The length of stay in air conditioning in summer, wearing bare midriffs or backless dress, depression, anxiety may increase the risk of developing CPP, while increasing the total amount of daily staple food may reduce the risk of developing CPP.2. With the social aesthetic and wearing habits change, the modern women tend to wear bare midriffs or backless, and stay in air conditioning in summer for a long time, eat cold food during menstruation, cold easily invades the body and cause disease. As the modern social activities diversity, many women participate in water sports, swimming, hot spring, that potentially lead to the invasion of cold dampness. In addition, more and more women under the pressure of family, work and life, that they are easy to irritability, fear, anxiety, depression. On the one hand, these negative emotions may contribute to the pathogenesis of chronic pelvic pain, on the other hand, physical discomfort discomfort will increase these negative emotions. As modern living standards improvement, materials supply enrichment, entertainment diversification, many people ignore diet and rest, reducing the total amount of daily staple food, sleeping late, what are hidden risk factors for disease occurrence.3. The survey showed the most type of patients with CPP was blood stasis, and with majority of qi and blood stasis type. Besides qi depression to blood stasis, excess blood stasis include cold coagulation and blood stasis, damp heat and blood stasis. Deficient blood stasis include Kidney deficiency and blood stasis, qi deficiency and blood stasis spleen deficiency with dampness and blood stasis.4. The age had significant impact on types. Most of patients under the age of 40 were excess syndrome. The main type of TCM was qi depression to blood stasis of the patients among 21-40 years old, while patients above 40 years old gived priority to deficiency syndrome, and the main type of TCM was Kidney deficiency and blood stasis. Course length bluff, western medicine etiology type had no significant effect. The course of disease, western medicine etiology had not significant influence on types.
