Objective:The clinical trials adopt acupuncture therapy in the treatment of polycystic ovary syndrome(polycystic ovary syndrome PCOS) of abnormal glucose and lipid metabolism in women, to explore an effective acupuncture therapy in the treatment of PCOS abnormal glucose and lipid metabolism, and to evaluate the impact of acupuncture therapy on glucose and lipid metabolism, PCOS female sex hormone level. Methods:The trials selected 55 patients who have been diagnosed with PCOS abnormal glucose and lipid metabolism. They were randomly divided into two groups by computer, where the treatment group with 29 cases was treated by acupuncture therapy, and the control group with 26 cases was treated with placebo. The treatment group was acupunctured 2-3 times per week with a 1-3 day interval each time, hence 32 times in total. Thus the trials are able to examine the changes in serum BMI, glucose and lipid metabolism, hormones and other related indicators of the two groups of patients before and after the treatment.Results:(1) In terms of disease overall curative effect, the total effective rate of treatment group is 96.21% and the control group 19.23%. After correction X2 inspection of the two treated groups, the total efficiency, P=0.000<0.05, indicates that the difference is statistically significant which suggests that the treatment group and the control group in the overall effect of the differences are significant. (2) The comparison within the groups:BMI, WC, WHR, FPB, blood glucose two-hour after meal, Ale, FINS, HOMA-IR, T, TG, TC and LDL are decreased than that before the treatment, with statistical significance (P<0.05), the other indexes show no statistical significance (P>0.05); Indexes of the control group before and after treatment have no statistical significance (P>0.05). (3) Cross-group comparison:two groups are statistically significant after treatment:BMI, WC, WHR, FPB,2h postprandial blood glucose, Alc, FINS, HOMA-IR, T, TG, TC difference (P<0.05), but no significant difference in other indexes (P>0.05)Conclusion:Acupuncture therapy in the treatment of patients with PCOS, reduces the levels of BMI, WC, WHR, FPB, blood glucose 2-hour post meal, Ald, FINS, HOMA-IR, TG, TC levels, improves glucose and lipid metabolism, alleviates insulin resistance (IR), enhances the quality of life in patients in the prevention of diabetes, cardiovascular disease and other long-term complications. At the same time, acupuncture therapy can reduce the high levels of testosterone (T) in PCOS patients, helps to restore normal ovulation and menstrual cycle. Moreover, acupuncture therapy of polycystic ovary syndrome with abnormal glucose and lipid metabolism is exact, safe, economical, simple and easy to operate, is a new technology for the treatment of PCOS and is worthy of clinical application.
