The Observation Of Ban Xia Xie Xin Decoction’s Clinical Curative Effect And Safety In Treating Chronic Non Atrophic Gastritis (Cold And Heat Syndrome)

Chronic non atrophic gastritis (CNAG) is a common digestive system disease. Intermingled heat and coldness is a common clinical syndrome. Long-term undeserved cure, loss of governance and the mistreatment delayed healing lead to the condition of the chronic gastritis patients changes. Patients’syndromes transform from the single card type to many kinds of card type with compound syndromes, and the emergence of mutual transformation between coldness and heat as well as the mixture of asthenia and sthenia bring great difficulties to the treatment. At present, western medicine mainly deals with symptomatic treatment, however, the clinical effect is still not clear while the traditional Chinese medicine treatment showed obvious advantages.This study selected 48 patients who conformed to the clinical, endoscopic and pathological diagnostic criteria of chronic non atrophic gastritis and they had the syndrome of intermingled heat and coldness. Those patients were randomly assigned as the experimental group with 36 patients who were treated with oral administration of Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction capsule,3 capsules,3 times a day, before meals and the control group with 12 patients who were treated with oral stimulated Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction capsule and the method of taking medicine was the same with the experimental group. The primary efficacy index of the patients were observed after four weeks of treatment including a contrast of syndrome total score before and after treatment, a contrast of syndrome total score improved level,a contrast of main symptoms of full, epigastric pain integral value before and after treatment, and a contrast of main symptoms improved grades. The secondary efficacy indicators were also observed including a contrast of secondary symptom score value before and after treatment, endoscopy improved grades, histological examination improve grades, a contrast of PRO value of gastrointestinal disease before and after treatment and HP infection eradication. Besides, patients took some physical examinations before and after treatment such as vital signs examination, examination of blood,urine and stool, examination of liver and kidney function and ECG, etc. in order to observe the security of the clinical use of Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction.The results show that (1)Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction can significantly relieve the overall symptoms of CNAG patients, especially fullness and epigastric pain; it also has a good effect on the symptoms of belching, acid regurgitation, bitter taste of mouth and halitosis; in addition,Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction can obviously improve the life quality of the patients with CNAG and its clinical use is safe without obvious adverse reactions; (2) the curative effect of Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction is not obvious in improving the activity degree of endoscopic mucosal inflammation and histological grade.; the further observation needs a larger sample, a longer cycle and more studied groups; (3) exclusive use o f Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction is not ideal to eradicate HP infection,but cooperated with western medicine may achieve good results.This study further confirms that clinical use of Ban Xia Xie Xin decoction has an effect on treating CNAG syndrome of intermingled heat and coldness, besides, it is safe so that it can be further extended.
