AimsThestudy aims to develop a post competency framework for Sterile Supply Center nursing managers, including the construction of Sterile Supply Center nursing manager’ competency of each item, behavior indicator and weight. And this research also goes ahead with the exploration of the further depth of Sterile Supply Center nursing and management positions. It can provide a scientific basisfor the selection of Sterile Supply Center of hospital nurse managers’ assessment, training, development, providing an individualdirectionfor nursing managersof Sterile Supply Center of hospital, to promote the subject discipline development through this research.MethodsBased database literature retrieval and depth semi-structured interview of qualitative research about nursing managers come from different hospitals of SterileSupply Center in Zhejiang province who were given in, using Nvivo software for data analyzing and open coding, extraction of competency factors and query related literature, an initial set of SterileSupply Center nursing managers competency framework was built. And using Delphi method, total up to 20 nursing experts from Zhejiang Province and outside Zhejiang province take part in 2 rounds of questionnaires and ultimately determine the competency elements entries, behavior indictor and weight of each assignment.Results1. Through in-depth semi-structured interviews, information collation and open coding combined with literature search and finally build a formation of SterileSupply Center nursing managers competency framework:8 categories,50 competency, and 70 behavioral indicators, from the expert consultation as the first round questionnaire.2. Through the first round and the second round of Delphi expert consultation questionnaire, using the boundary value method selection evaluation index and based on the expert’s opinions and Suggestions, the discussion of a topic group analysis, the questionnaire results of Delphi expert consultation for the first round: establishingSterileSupply Center nursing managers post competency indicators including 8 first-level indicators,39 competence characteristics,62 behavioral indicators;The second questionnaire combined with optimal sequence diagram to determine the level of index weight, ultimately determine SterileSupply Center nursing managers post competency framework contains 7 primary index (quality management, clinical services, wholeawareness, team building, communication and coordination ability, knowledge and skills, personality traits),32 competency characteristics and 50 behavioral indicators and to all levels of index weight assignment, established SterileSupply Cente nursing managers post competency indicators.3. Delphi expert consultation method of reliability analysising includethree indexes testing which were positive coefficient of experts、the degree of authority、coordination of expert consultation.Chosenexperts from Zhejiang province and outside Zhejiang provincehad a certain representative regional、more than 10 years working in the field of medical professional、bachelor degree or above had more than 80% of experts, two round experts from SterileSupply Center nursing managers accounted for 72.2% and 58.82%, respectively, also included the matron of Operation room. Emergency center Intensive care unit、Surgery surgical ward, Hospital nursing administration、Hospital infection management.Two rounds of expert group of authority coefficient values were 0.842、0.787, had a good reliability;The positive coefficient of expert consultation were 90%、85% respectively; The consulting results expert opinion coordination coefficient of the first and the second level indicators were 0.553,0.356 and 0.431, 0.240 respectively, two rounds of significance test of the coordination coefficient of P values are less than 0.05, the coordination degree is good, the results had statistical significance. The first round and the second round of expert general recognition rate to the importance index judgment at all levels、arithmetic mean、the variation coefficient were 88.73,4.41,14.69 and 94.17,4.56,12.02 respectively, general recognition rate、 arithmetic mean had the obvious promotion, coefficient of variation is reduced, the experts tend to agreeconsistencyConclusionUsing in-depth semi-structured interview method, literature retrieval and Delphi expert consultation method to construct SterileSupply Center nursing managers’ competency is more appropriate and scientific. The competency includes 7dimensions, 32 items of competency,50 behavior indicators is scientific and reliable, covering the all aspects whichneed more attention and face in working for SterileSupply Center nursing managers. For SterileSupply Center nursing managers’ performance appraisal, provide a scientific reference for training and development for the nursing managers and excellent nurses in SterileSupply Center, provide their individual direction of development to some extent, and promote the development of sterilization supply subject.SuggestionsFor future research:the combination of SterileSupply Center nursing manager competency framework with the performance appraisal standard of research and development and assessment, put the competency in the real application to the actual assessment, and play a guiding role.
