ObjectiveIn a randomized controlled trial, we compared the symptoms and the laboratory indexs to observe and evaluate the clinical effects and safety of my tutor’s experienced-decoctions Tong-Feng-Fang combined with western medicine in treating acute gouty arthritis. Through the study, we would like to find out the advantage of Chinese and western medicine treatment on acute gouty arthritis.MethodsIn this study,60 acute gouty arthritis patients who conformed to the inclusive standards and damp-heat with blood stasis type were randomized into treatment group or control group by a random number table.30 patients in the control group were given Etoricoxib Tablets, colchicine pills and Febuxostat Tablets as a basic therapy. We added Chinese decoctions Tong-Feng-Fang to the other one group in the basic treatment. The observation lasted 7 days. After that, the changes of clinical symptoms, blood uric acid, c-reactive protein and blood sedimentation were collected as data for statistical analysis and therapeutic evaluation. We also recorded the hepatorenal function and adverse reactions, so we could assess the safety of this study.ResultsWe concluded that the treatments of two groups were all effective and the treatment group had 100% effective rate. After 7 days, the blood uric acid, c-reactive protein and blood sedimentation were all decresed. The symptomatic remission and clinical indexs’decrease of the treatment group were better than the control one. There was nothing abnormal about the blood, urine, stool examination and the hepatorenal function including AST, ATL, UREA and CREA during this period.ConclusionIn this preliminary study of treatment about acue gouty arthritis, we found out that two groups have taken effect in the symptoms and the laboratory indexs. The symptoms, the blood uric acid and c-reactive protein dropped more in the treatment group. We summarized that Chinese and western medicine combination treatment compared against western medicine therapy had better clinical effects in treating acue gouty arthritis.
