Objective Study changes in children’s routine pulmonary function caused by pneumonia mycoplasma pneumonia(MPP), allergic rhinitis and bronchial asthma, compare their differences in pulmonary function, and explore the pathogenic mechanism of MP infection and allergic rhinitis as well as their effects on pulmonary function, so as to provide guidance for disease treatment and objective clinical index to make prognosis evaluation. Methods Use German Jaeger masterscope pulmonary function instrument to conduct conventional pulmonary ventilation, pulmonary function testing on 86 positive cases of MP detection in children with Mycoplasma pneumoniae pneumonia, 82 cases of children with allergic rhinitis, 45 cases of children with bronchial asthma and 48 cases of normal control group; conduct bronchial excitation experiment on qualified children with allergic rhinitis; at the same time, analyze and compare the detection index of children with these three diseases according to age(4 to 6 years old in a group and 7 ~ 9 years old in a group) and onset period(acute stage and remittent stage).Results(1) In both acute and remittent stage, FEF25, FEF50, FEF75, FEF25-75 reflecting the function of small airway in children with MP are significantly lower than the predicted value as well as the normal control group(P < 0.05), while FVC, FEV1, FEV1 / FVC reflecting the function of large airways, in acute stage, are partly damaged but return to normal level in remittent stage. There are no significant differences in the above indexes between 4~6 years old and 7~9 years old.(P<0.0.05)(2) The lung function of children with allergic rhinitis presents a certain degree of damage: the routine pulmonary function indexes FVC, FEV1, FEV1 / FVC, PEF, FEF25, FEF50, FEF75, FEF25-75 are lower than expected, and the difference is statistically significant(P<0.005). Children with allergic rhinitis whose routine pulmonary function is damaged present higher possibility of positive bronchial provocation and higher degree of airway hyperresponsiveness. The correlation is positive.(3) The FEF50, FEF75 and FEF25-75( which reflect the function of small airway) of children with bronchial asthma are, in acute stage and remittent stage, significantly lower than the predicted value and normal control group(P < 0.05), while FVC, FEV1 and PEF( which reflect the function of main airway are damaged in acute stage but partially restore to the normal level in remittent stage. There are no significant differences in the above indexes between 4~6 years old and 7~9 years old. Conclusion Similar to bronchial asthma, impaired lung function caused by MPP is characteristically presented in small airway obstruction ventilation dysfunction and is not obviously related with age. Morever, it takes more time for small airway to restore its function. Children with allergic rhinitis have a certain degree of pulmonary function damage and a high degree of airway responsiveness. BHR degree and the degree of impairment of pulmonary function are positively related, similar to bronchial asthma.
