Objective:To promote the clinical-functional outcomes of the treatment of humeral distal fractures via summing up diagnostic and therapeutic errors of children with distal humeral epiphysis separation.Methods:This retrospective study was performed in our hospital with a total of 48 children with distal humeral epiphysis separation from July 2009 to July 2015. Clinical manifestation and imageological diagnosis were measured to sum up diagnostic and therapeutic errors.Results:There were 31 children misdiagnosed with dislocation of elbow joint,6 with humeral lateral condyle fracture,10 with supracondylar fracture of humerus,1 with Lateral condyle fracture merge elbow dislocation. At the aspect of treatment lapsus,18 children were misuse or abuse of Chinese herbal medicine,11 were repeatedly reset,13 were treated with unreliable external fixation,10 with improper surgical treatments and 7 with improper functional exercise.Conclusion:Children humerus distal epiphyseal separation is easily misdiagnosed in the elbow injury. In order to make the correct early diagnosis, treatment and avoid diagnostic and therapeutic errors, doctors must familiar with children’s elbow anatomical features and diagnosis fracture with clinical examinations and linkage imaging.
