Objective:This paper studied the growth time and diameter of 0 to 5 year old child's the femoral head epiphysis and the theory model between diameter and gender or age.So as to support the diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to femoral head epiphysis.Methods:We Screen the upside of femoral of 1450 children by X-rays and measure the diameter of the femoral head by medical image processing software.This study uses spss15.0 analyses the data and analyzes the frequency distribution of children aged 0 to 5 by descriptive statistical methods and test the arisen time of femoral head epiphysis of children who have different age and gender by chi-square method.Finally,we analyze the linear relationship between the diameter of the femoral head and age of different gender children by establishing regression equation.Results:(1)In this study,all the children aged 0-1 months don't have femoral head epiphysis,the appearance rate of femoral head epiphysis of children in different gender aged 2 to 4 or 6 months have statistical significance. The age of different gender children has different rate of the femoral head epiphysis,but without statistical significance.After 12 months,the children of different gender don't have the femoral head epiphysis.(2)The different gender children which age at 3 to 4 months about the diameter of the left or right femoral head epiphysis size comparison, the differences were statistically significant(t=-3.09,p=0.00;t=-2.98, p=0.00;t=-3.45,p=0.00;t=-2.98,p=0.00).The different gender children which age at 6 or 10 months about the diameter of the left femoral head epiphysis size comparison,the differences were statistically significant (t=-2.31,p=0.02;t=-2.82,p=0.01;t=-3.18,p=0.00;t=-3.40,p=0.00) The differences of the diameter size of femoral head epiphysis of others children was not significant.(3)Taking the diameter of femoral head epiphysis as the dependent variable and taking age and gender as the independent variable,we establish the multiple regression equation:Yleft=2.074+0.448Xage+ 0.669Xgender,R2=0.782;Yright=2.199+0.443Xage+0.623Xgender,R2=0.777; Yleft=2.069+0.448Xage,R2=0.779,Yright=2.163+0.445Xage,R2=0.772; Yleft=2.744+0.448 Xage,R2=0.789;Yright=2.886+0.439Xage,R2=0.787.Conclusions:(1)Children whose age at 2-4 or 6 months,the femoral head epiphysis are different with gender.The rate of girl-child thighbone skull epiphysis appears is higher than boy-child.(2)the femoral head epiphysis is different with gender.Usually, girl-child thighbone skull epiphysis appears is larger than boy-child.(3)The diameter of the femoral head epiphysis with age and gender are linear regression,it can be used to predict the diameter size of the femoral head epiphysis.
