Intermediate Follow-up Results For The C After Yizong-Wei Chiropractic Treatment Of Lumbar Spinal Stenosis Disease

ObjectiveDo research on Lumbar Spinal Stenosis(LSS) Patients’mid-term quality of life(QOL) after Yizong-Wei chiropractic treatment, to compare the score from every dimensions of QOL. And explore the valid scheme for treatment of LSS on the basis of QOL, to provide a basis for more rational treatment selection in clinical work.MethodsWe used retrospective cohort study to have this research. Retrospecting 189 inpatients in Guangdong provincial hospital of TCM diagnosed with Degenerative Lumbar Spinal Stenosis,98 inpatients in conformity to standard can work in the research. According to the treatment plan, divide into two groups; the pelvic traction group and the four dimensional traction treatment group. All patients were scored with The Short-term 36(SF-36), statistical analysis was executed by SPSS 21.0 software, evaluate the efficacy after treatment on the QOL form 8 dimensions respectively:Physical Functioning (PF), Bodily Pain(BP), General Health(GH), Role-Physical(RP), Role-Emotional(RE), Vitality(VT), Mental health(MH), Social Functioning(SF).Results1. Comparing the scores of all the inpatients after treatment between the pelvic traction group and the four dimensional traction treatment group, the scores in 8 dimensions of the four dimensional traction group are high than the scores in the other group. And there were significant differences in PF、 BP, RP, VT、MH, SF.2. The QOL scores for patients in chiropractic group,who got the disease for less than 4 years, in PF were higher than the pelvic traction group. And there were significant difference. Otherwise the QOL scores of the patients who got this disease for more than 4 years, in GH were higher than the pelvic traction group. And there were significant difference.3.There shows no significant changes in the scores of QOL for the inpatients after four dimensional traction or pelvic traction treatment between the factors which were gender.4. The QOL scores in SF, BP, RE of the inpatients in chiropractic group less than 65 years old were higher than the pelvic traction group, and show significant change with them. The QOL scores in PF, BP of the inpatients in chiropractic group older than 65 years old were higher than the pelvic traction group, and show the significant change with them.5. The scores of QOL for the inpatients in chiropractic group after following up with less than 1.5 years, shows that the scores in GH of them were higher than pelvic traction group, the QOL scores in SF of pelvic traction group were higher than chiropractic group and show significant change with them.Conclusion1. There were significant differences in PF、BP、RP、VT、MH、SF between the two groups, the scores of the treatment group was better than Pelvis group. It suggest that the Wei Yizong chiropractic treatment can improve the physical functions, alleviate the pain in the body, and to improve the mental health help. In the clinical work should be based on the specific circumstances of the patient to choose a reasonable treatment plan.2. There was no influence on the quality of life of the patients after the treatment of pelvic traction and the chiropractic treatment3.The scores in GH for patients who were followed up for less than 1.5 years were higher than the patients in pelvic traction group. Maybe, the chiropractic treatment can be helpful for their GH, the QOL scores for patients in chiropractic group were lower than the one in pelvic traction group, so we recommended that patients the strengthen exchanges and communication to their friends.4. The QOL score in BP of patients in chiropractic group for the patients were higher than the pelvic group, maybe the chiropractic treatment were helpful for pain. The QOL score in SF, MH, in less than 65 year old age group in chiropractic treatment group were above the pelvic traction group, may be chiropractic treatment after relieving symptoms contribute to the social and mental health. In patients over 65 years of age, the PF of the chiropractic group was higher than that of the pelvic traction group, which may be helpful to improve the physiological function.5. The QOL scores for patients, who got the disease for less than 4 years, in PF were higher than the pelvic traction group, it tell us that the chiropractic therapy maybe can relieve physical pain. In addition, more than 4 years of whole chiropractic patients in the GH of QOL scores were higher than the pelvic traction group, the chiropractic treatment can relieve physical pain, but also affect the health of patients6. Yi-zong Wei chiropractic therapy in the treatment of lumbar spinal stenosis is a effective, safe and reliable and less side effects of treatment methods, it is worth clinical promotion.
