The Clinical Study About The Impact Of Asthma Children’s Height By The Knead Ridge Therapy

Objective:This project is a propective reseach to find the influence on the asthma children’s height and weight by using the knead ridge therapy as a adjuvant treatment to treat asthma chidren, whose duration was 12 months. Besides, the study is to find the influencce on the asthma children’symptoms and the costs.Method:Totally 70 asthma children aged 4 to 5 years were randomized into the treatment group(35) by the knead ridge therapy and control group(35) without the knead ridge therapy, and their condition was asessed. According to their conditions, some medicine such as ICS、theophylline drugs、LABA can be given. Based on it, the treatment by the knead ridge therapy group was treated with the knead ridge therapy_as an adjuvant treatment, which will be operated circulating seven times by trained parents of asthma children from Changqiang ocupoint to Dazhui ocupoint once a day before sleeping or after bathing. The control group without the knead ridge therapy was treated without the knead ridge therapy, According to their conditions, some medicine such as ICS、 theophylline drugs、LABA can be given. In addition, a healthy control group will be set up composed of 35 healthy children during the same age. The duration of the study was 12 months. Data was collected by outpatient visit and telephone interview once a month, which including the changes of the participants’ height and weight、wheezing times、the daytime symptoms(stuffy nose, runny nose, coughing, sneezing, shortness of breath)、nighttime symptoms(nighttime awakenings, coughing) and the costs(the registration fee, examination fee,treatment fee and expenses).Results：Compared with the healthy control group, the average annual growth and body weight of children with mild asthma was respectively decreased by 0.31cm and 0.07kg, their difference wasing not significant (P>0.05). After treatment, The treatment by the knead ridge theraPy group’average annual growth of height than that of the control group without the knead ridge therapy increased by 0.82cm, their difference wasing significant (P＜0.05). The treatment by the knead ridge therapy group’average annual growth of weight than that of the control group without the knead ridge therapy increased by 0.5kg, there wasing significant difference between them(P＜0.05). The treatment by the knead ridge therapy group’average annual growth of height was 7.48cm, while the healthy control group’s growth was 6.97cm, their difference wasing significant (PC 0.05). The treatment by the knead ridge therapy group’average annual growth of weight was 2.04kg, while the healthy control group’s growth was 1.81kg, their difference wasing significant (P＜0.05). There wasing significant difference in clinical symptoms including daytime symptoms as well as nightsymptoms between the treatment by the knead ridge therapy group and the contrast group without the knead ridge therapy (P＜0.01). The contrast group without the knead ridge therapy annually in average cost 4798.70 yuan, while the treatment by the knead ridge therapy group annually cost 363.79 yuan in average, there wasing significant difference between them(P＜0.01).Conclusion:The knead ridge therapy is not only easily operated, but also costs less time. It is more easily accepted by asthma children and their parents. The knead ridge therapy not only can increase the gowth of the asthma childrens’heigt and weight, but also can decrease wheezing episodes and release the daytime symptoms as well as nighttime symptoms. At the same time, The knead ridge therapy can decrease the cost. In addition, It relieve the mental burden of the asthma childens’parents and the economic burden of their family. Besides, the heigt and weight of children with mild asthma has no significant diference than those of healthy children.
