Clinical Observation On The Treatment Of Functional Constipation In Children With Knead Guiwei

ObjectiveThe aim of this study was to observe therapeutic effect of functional constipation in children treated with knead Guiwei, which provided a scientific basis and to provide a simple, feasible and effective treatment for the clinical treatment of functional constipation in children.MethodsFrom the acupuncture outpatient of the Rehabilitation Hospital of Fujian.Province, 60 cases of functional constipation in children were randomly divided into treatment group and control group with 30 cases in each group during the period from 2014 January to 2015 February. Patients in the control group adopted to take orally of Golden Bifid, early childhood of six months, one tablet each time; six months to three years old, two tablets each time; three years to twelve years old, three tablets each time, three times daily, while the treatment group took knead Guiwei. In the treatment group, early childhood of one year old, kneading one minute each time, one to three years old, kneading one to two minute each time, three years to six years old, kneading two to three minute each time, two times daily. All the patients took two weeks as a course. At the pretherapy and post-treatment, both groups’ data collection were using PAC-SYM and Bristol rating scale, at the same time recorded the data of children’ first and weekly defecation times. Afterwards using SPSS16.0 statistical analysis software for data processing, and based on the result of the analysis, compare the clinical curative effect of the two groups.Results1. There were significant differences (P<0.05) in PAC-SYM scores between two group at the pretherapy and post-treatment, which showed that two kinds of treatment methods for improved the symptoms of functional constipation in children were effective. But there were no significant differences(P>0.05) in PAC-SYM scores between two groups at the post-treatment, which showed that two groups had the same effective.2. There were significant differences (P＜0.05) in Bristol scores between two group at the pretherapy and post-treatment, which showed that two kinds of treatment methods for improved the excrement character were effective. What’s more, there were significant differences (P<0.05) in Bristol scores between two groups at the post-treatment, which showed that the Golden Bifid group on the improvement of excrement character is better than the knead Guiwei group.3. There were significant differences (P<0.05) in the first purge time (29.57±1.48hours/38.53±1.56hours) between knead Guiwei group and Golden Bifid group, which showed that Knead Guiwei group in improving the first purge time is shorter than Golden Bifid group.4. There were significant differences (P<0.05) in weekly defecation times between two group at the pretherapy and post-treatment, which showed that two kinds of treatment methods for improved the weekly defecation times were effective. What’s more, there were significant differences (P<0.05) in weekly defecation times between two groups at the post-treatment, which showed that the knead Guiwei group on the improvement of weekly defecation times is more than the Golden Bifid group.5. The result showed that the total effective rate of the knead Guiwei group was 76.67%, which invalid in 7 case, effective in 9 case, markedly effective in 13 case and recovered in 1 case, while the Golden Bifid group was 73.33%, which invalid in 8 case, effective in 12 case, markedly effective in 8 case and recovered in 2 case. The significant efficiency and cure rate of the knead Guiwei group was 46.67% while that of Golden Bifid group was 33.33%. The two groups has no significant difference in the total effective rate (P>0.05). Also in the significant efficiency and cure rate(P>0.05). It can deduce that two groups had the same effective.Conclusion1. The study showed that the knead Guiwei group was effectived for the treatment of functional constipation in children, which had the same effective with Golden Bifid group.2. The study showed that the knead Guiwei group on the improvement of first and weekly defecation times is better than the Golden Bifid group, while the Golden Bifid group on the. improvement of excrement character is more advantage. Therefore, it is suggested that combining two methods, the treatment of functional constipation in children may have better effect.3. Knead Guiwei for treatment of functional constipation in children was an effective therapy, which is a kind of simple convenient, cheap and effective and it has no side effects of treatment. Not only did it provided a scientific basis for the clinical treatment of functional constipation in children, but also did it expanded and used in child care.
