| ObjectiveThis research aims at the acupuncture of regulating mind to cure acne caused by damp-heat constitution. While using physique adjusted to coordinate acne patients’ damp-heat constitution, the clinical application of spirit regulation theory can enhance patients’ positive mood. Spirit regulation methodology acupuncture’s efficacy and security will be appraised objectively though observing the improvement of acne skin lesions integral and damp-heat constitution integral between pre and post treatment; thereby, provides an new idea and method for acne vulgaris.MethodsAccording to inclusion criteria,we collected 60 cases whose acne caused by damp-heat constitution from patients seeking medical in the acupuncture and the mammary glands outpatient department in the first affiliated hospital of Guangzhou University of TCM and college students in Sanyuanli campus of Guangzhou University of TCM, randomized those cases into treatment group and control group. Patients of both groups were giving basic treatment by scraping mature facial cysts and dorsum urinary bladder before further treatment. After basic treatment, both groups were treated by acupuncture. Patients of control group was simulated 7 points once every other day:SI 18、DU 14、LI 4、LI 11、 ST 44、ST 36、SP 6、SP 9, which can cure damp-heat accumulation type base on Acupuncture and Moxibustion Therapy (Edition 2,2007). Besides the 7 points that control group applied, patients of treatment group were acupunctured 4 more points:Dingshenzhe、HT 7、PC 6、GB 40 chosen by spirit regulation theory. Scraping was applied once per week and would sustain 3 courses each one included 4 times scraping. Acupunctures for both groups were applied every other day; one course maintained one month and there were 3 courses in total. By observing patients’ improvement facial of acne skin lesions integral and damp-heat constitution integral, we built database and SPSS 19.0 was used for statistical analysis.ResultAmong 60 cases,3 cases was rejected. There were 29 valid cases for treatment group, and 28 valid cases for control group. Total effective rate in the treatment group and the control group was 89.66% and 75%, respectively. Apparently total effective rate of treatment was higher than that of control group which indicated the therapeutic scheme for treatment group was more superior.For patients of both groups, the differences of acne skin lesions integral between pre and post treatment were statistically significant (P< 0.05). And the differences of two groups’post treatment acne skin lesions integral were statistically significant too (P< 0.05). These significant differences showed the improvements of acne skin lesions integral in treatment groups were better than the same type of improvements in control groups. As for the enhancement of damp-heat constitution, the differences of damp-heat constitution integral between pre and post treatment were statistically significant (P<0.05) Meanwhile the differences of two groups’damp-heat constitution integral were statistically significant as well (P< 0.05).Those results means the enhancement of physical fitness in treatment group was more superior.ConclusionThe therapeutic scheme for both groups was effective:the acne skin lesions were decreased and damp-heat constitution was improved. However, the acupuncture of regulating mind combined therapeutic scheme’s statistical significance was more significant:the decrease of acne skin lesions and improvement of damp-heat constitution of treatment were better than that of control group. In conclusion, the spirit regulation theory combined therapeutic scheme was more effective and could cure acne caused by damp-heat constitution multifaceted and radically. And for diseases caused by damp-heat constitution, the acupuncture of regulating mind has crucial guiding significance and is worth popularizing in clinic. |
