The Clinical Study Of Primary Hemifacial Spasm Treated By Nourishing Blood And Tonic Tendon Acupuncture

ObjectivePrimary hemifacial spasm is a difficile illness in clinical area.This project is in order to discuss the therapeutic effect and rationale of primary hemifacial spasm treated with Nourishing Blood and Tonic Tendon Acupuncture.MethodsSixty patients which suitable for this project and with primary hemifacial spasm were randomly divided into experimental group and control group Experimental group treat with Nourishing Blood and Tonic Tendon Acupuncture, selecting ipsilateral daying, juliao, jiache, cuanzhu, xiaguan, sibai, touwei, dicing;double yanglingquan, sanyinjiao, xuehai, zusanli;ipsiblesional hegu. After skin disinfection, facial points are inserted 0.5-inch by 1-inch needles of even reinforcing-reducing method; points on extremities are inserted 1.5-inch by 2-inch needles of reinforcing method. Control group treat with Traditional Acupuncture, according to national teaching meterial of traditional Chinese medicine:Prescription of Acupuncture, seclecting ipsilateral xiaguan, yingtang, cuanzhu,dicang jiache, chengjiang, taiyang, sibai and ipsiblesional hegu. After skin disinfection, facial points are inserted 0.5-inch by 1-inch needles, hegu inserted 1.5 inchs by 2 inchs needle of even reinforcing-reducing method. Two groups have one treatment per day,30 minutes per time. One course has five treatments, rest two days between courses. And see the differences after four courses.The differences between before and after treatment are distinguished by spasm intensity, blink reflex and electromyography to find if there is any statically difference.ResultsAt the beginning, the differences between those two grouds’normal informations and all indexes of spasm intensity, blink reflex and electromyography, by t tests, x 2 tests or rank tests, do not have statistical significane (P>0.05)After curing, the differences between those two grouds’all indexes of spasm intensity, blink reflex and electromyography, by t tests or x2 tests, have statistical significane(P< 0.05). The experimental group’s improvements of all observational indexes are better than the control group’s.After four courses, the experimental group’s total effectiveness is 93.3%, while the control group’s total effectiveness is 83.3%. The difference between two groups’clinical curative effects, by rank test, is significant (Z-2.123,P=0.034) ConclusionFor primary hemifacial spasm’s curing, Nourishing Blood and Tonic Tendon Acupuncture can significantly improve symptoms of hemifacial spasm, and worthy of clinical popularizing...
