ObjectiveEvaluate significance of the analysis of urinary calculi components achieved through IR automatic analysis system, and discuss the clinical value of prevention guidance for associated urinary calculi.Materials and MethodsRetrospectively analyze 122 urinary calculi cases who underwent endoscopic surgery operation in Shandong Provincial Hospital Minimally Invasive Urology department since Jun 1,2015 to Apr 1,2016. Among them, we have 70 male cases and 52 female cases. And the number of renal calculi, ureteral calculi, lower urinary tract (bladder and urethra) calculi respectively are 57,59,6. Through infrared spectroscopy, automaticly to analyze the chemical components of the stone specimens, and study the relationship between different composition of stones, and gender or stones occurring position. Then discuss the value and significance of stones composition analysis using for prevention guidance of relevant stones in practical clinical application.Results122 cases of urinary calculi containing calcium oxalate monohydrate by most (90.4%), followed by carbonated apatite (47.6%), and calcium oxalate dihydrate (32.3%), anhydrous acid (9.8%) and phosphoric acid hexahydrate (4.1%), etc, are rare. Single ingredient stones refer to 52 cases, while 70 cases of stones contain mixed ingredients (38 cases of two ingredients stones,35 cases of three ingredients stones,7 cases of four ingredients stones); The most common single ingredients stones is calcium oxalate monohydrate (77.8%); the most common ingredients in mixed stones are calcium oxalate monohydrate+carbonated apatite (75%). By examination, the distribution of different components of stones in kidney and ureter has no significant difference (P> 0.05), while the components of upper urinary tract stones and lower urinary tract stones was significantly different data(P<0.05). That indicates kidney stones’and ureteral stones’similarity in genesis, or ureteral stones resulting from kidney stones’falling, while different mechanisms occur in formation of upper urinary tract stones and lower urinary tract stones. In addition, stones composition ratio of different gender was significantly different (P<0.05), which tips genesis of urinary calculi in different gender has characteristics. And more details need further experiment.Based on previous research, studies have shown that after surgery, the first-year’s, third-year’s, fifth-year’s stone recurrence rate were 6.7%,28.0% and 41.8%, respectively. Providing prevention guidance for patients according to the results of infrared spectroscopy automatic analysis of stone components, it can help the patients grasp correct health knowledge to prevent calculi recurrence, as a result, the recurrence rate of urinary tract stones can be effectively reduced, or prolong the recurrence time of urinary calculi.ConclusionIR automatic analysis can analyze the composition of urinary tract stones quickly, easily and accurately. Providing prevention guidance for patients according to the results of infrared spectroscopy automatic analysis of stone components, it can reduce the recurrence rate of urinary tract stones effectively. And it is suitable for routine clinical use.
