A Comparative Study Of Knee Scores Between UKA And TKA

Objective:To research the knee scores of pre-operation and postoperation between UKA and TKA by follow-up.Methods:Selected the number of the patients in 106 single UKA from March 2013 to Dec 2014 in the First Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University,and selected the same number of patients in 173 single TKA(NEXGEN prosthesis) at the same time,recorded the pre-operation and postoperation knee scores,including KSS score,WOMAC score,and ROM..Results: In the UKA group,2 case happened prosthesis loosened,and cured by single-stage revision,1 case happened bone cement fell,and got good recovery after joint clear operation.In the TKA group,2 case got infection,1 case did not recur infection after single-stage revision,1 case only replaced the gasket,and got good recoverment after operation.Rule out the above patient,UKA group keep 30 case,and TKA group keep 46 case,according to the knee score that followed,we found that,regardless of TKA or UKA,the knee scores of postoperation improvedobviously than pre-operation(p < 0.05),and the knee scores of postoperation had notobvious difference(p > 0.05),the degree of active range of UKA was higher than TKA’s(p <0.05).Conclusion:Our study indicated that,with the strict indications selection,the standard operation technique and good exercise,UKA could improve the quality of life as well as TKA,it could get good effection in middle and short term,and its long-term effection still needs further observation.
