Objective: To evaluate treatment and operation timing of anal fistula in acute leukemia patients. Methods: Clinical data of 42 acute leukemia patients with anal fistula from January,2010 to January, 2015 in First Hospital of Xinjiang Medical University were evaluated according to the choice of operation time.Patients were divided into two groups undergoing surgery before chemotherapy(group A) and surgery after chemotherapy(group B).Clinical analysis was performed usingx~2or t test and correlation index. Results:There were no statistical significances(P > 0.05) between the groups of A and B in the baseline data such as age(t=0.582, P=0.143), gender(x~2=0.259, P=0.611), nationality(x~2= 0.000, P= 1.000). After different treatment method, There were no statistical significances between the two groups in the aspects of posttreatment perianal pain(x~2=0.467, P=0.495), anorectal secretion(x~2= 0.224, P=0.636), perianal induration(x~2=0.259, P=0.611), fever(x~2=0.727, P=0.394). 42 patients(73.8%) were detected by the anorectal examination, 83.3% patients were detected by rectal examination combined with high frequency Doppler Ultrasound. 7 patients were detected by MRI examination after negative result using rectal examination and Doppler Ultrasound. Postoperative 1d neutrophil cell count reduced significantly(P<0.05) in the group A. There were no statistical significances between the two groups in the aspects of postoperative platelet count(x~2=0.17, P=0.895), hospitalization time(t=0.531, P=0.927), fistula healing time(t= 0.479, P=0.451; t=0.333, P=0.251). Chemotherapy before surgery regime reduces the incidence of infection. Conclusion: The clinical features of acute leukemia patients with anal fistula are obvious, it is easy to diagnose and need to be treated in time,Chemotherapy before surgery may improve the prognosis of anorectal fistula patients of acute leukemia.
