Objective Special clinical manifestations within exploration spinal neurofibromatosis type I, imaging characteristics and choice of surgical approach to improve the diagnostic accuracy and clinical treatment of the disease and how it affects prognosis.Method Retrospective analysis of clinical data 2010.02-2015.02 in our department pathologically confirmed intraspinal neurofibromatosis type I of 6 patients.Detailed record preoperative clinical features and MRI findings, to analysis elements of correct diagnosis. And score them using IJOA preoperative and postoperative scores, using SPSS13.0 software paired samples t-test, comparing the correlation between preoperative score and postoperative score. Results The group of patients with total removal of the tumor in 2 cases, subtotal in 4cases and all were confirmed by pathology after Neurofibroma, 3 cases of recurrence. All five patients MRI examination showed a "target sign." IJOA preoperative mean score(11.5 ± 2.07), after IJOA mean score(15.3 ± 1.37), P <0.001Conclusion All patients with postoperative scores were significantly higher than the preoperative scores, and the difference was statistically significant(P <0.05), so we can conclude that surgery is an effective treatment. The surgery can significantly improve symptoms, but it is still facing high relapse rate, may be considered for asymptomatic tumor can follow-up.
