Short-term Efficacy Of Metabolic Surgery For OSA With Obesity

Objective: To evaluate the short-term effect of metabolic & bariatric surgery for OSA with obesity.Methods: The clinical data of 48 patients with OSA performed metabolic & bariatric surgery between June 2013 and June 2015 in Department of General Surgery,the Hospital Affiliated to Shanghai Jiao Tong University were analyzed retrospectively.Patients were divided into two groups(LRYGB group and LSG group)by the procedure they underwent and records including preoperative and postoperative BMI and PSG results.Results: Operations were successfully performed in all the 48 patients.6 months after operation,there were significant improvement in BMI,EWL% and PSG results in both groups(P<0.05).No significant different between these two groups.Meanwhile,preoperative AHI may be the independent factors for the efficacy of metabolic surgery for OSA with obesity.Conclusion: LSG and LRYGB can ease the OSA condition on obese patients,long-term outcome awaits further observation.
