Objective:To compare the difference of therapeutic efficacy between Turtle-probing needing and the normal acupuncture at Fengci for treatment of occipital neuralgia. Methods:The 40 cases of occipital neuralgia patients were randomly divided into Turtle-probing needing group (the treatment group) javascript and the normal acupuncture group (the control group), and 20 cases of each group. There are two steps in the operation. The points were:Fengci, Cervical 2-3 Jiaji Points, Waiguan, Houxi.First, Turtle-probing needling javascript use the acupuncture of Turtle-probing needing javascript, take at Fengci which refer to theway of Turtle-probing needing javascript of Xufeng, and reinforce needle acupuncture to toppled into the direction of the tip of the nose to the acupuncture needle reaches the ground where the depth of about 25 to 40 mm, twirl gas and then go back to the days of shallow layer. And then we use two finger to bring down theneedle body where the angle is about 15 degree angle that the original Fengchi point to the axis of nose tip, we replace the direction of needling which in turn up, down, left and right. When needling in each direction, we must be shallow to deep and have three steps to going, at each step, we twist left to right. And when feeling the sensation of significantly needling, we retreat the needle to the point of shallow layer and change the direction, finally we stay the needle at the original direction according to the way of the needling, the mild-reinforcing-and-attenuating at the other points. Second, the normal acupuncture group was treated with mild-reinforcing-and-attenuating at all the points. Once daily, the treatment session was 10 days, assess the efficacy by using Visual Analogue Scale (VAS).Results:The cured and markedly effective rate of 85.0%(17/20) in the Turtle-probing needing group was superior to that of 55.0%(11/20) in the normal acupuncture group (p<0.05); After treatment, VAS scale were decreased significantly in the two groups (all p<0.05). The decreasing degree of the VAS scale in the Turtle-probing needing group was more obvious than that in the the normal acupuncture group (6.00±1.59 VS 4.50±1.70, p< 0.05).Conclusion:The efficacy of the Turtle-probing needing at Fengci for occipital neuralgia is superior to that of the normal acupuncture.
