Ojbective:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of Edaravone and mild hypothermia intreatment of cerebral infarction. Methods:Randomized controlled trials(RCT) focused on Edaravone and mild hypothermia in the treatment of cerebral infarction were searched from the databases including:PubMed,CBM,VIP,CNKI and Wanfang Database. The qualities of included RCTs were evaluated by means of RevMan 5.2 to conduct the Meta-analysis.Results:A total of 17 RCTs were included.Meta-analysis results disclosed that the effectiveness of experimental group(Edaravone and mild hypothermia group) had significantly different from control group 1 (Conventional treatment group, P<0.00001) and control group 2(Edaravone group, P=0.0008), had no significant difference from control group 3 (mild hypothermia group, P=0.39).The improvement of neurological function in experimental group had significantly different from control group1(P<0.00001).The possibility of adverse reactions were equal in each group(P>0.05).Conclusion:The analysis indicates the effectiveness of Edaravone and mild hypothermia was better than that of Conventional treatment and Edaravone alone, was equivalent to mild hypothermia alone in treatment of cerebral infarction. However, the combined treatment made further progress in the improvement of neurological function compared with Conventional treatment. Whereas the risk of adverse reactions had not increasd in the combined treatment.
