ObjectiveTo explore the protective effects of continuous trickle of low temperature liquids though the lateral ventricle on heat shock protein 70 (HSP70) after rabbit middle cerebral artery occlusion(MCAO) in rabbits.Methods16 rabbits were randomly divided into the control group (normal temperature liquid) n=8 and the mild hypothermia group(22°C low temperature liquid)n=8 after MCAO. the middle cerebral artery occlusion model is made by intralumial thread approach, then we trickled the lateral ventricle continuously with low temperature liquids. After 24 hours,we observe the pathology of ischemic of MCAO by SABC and TUNEL assay.ResultThe apoptotic cells number in the mild hypothermia group were much lower than those of the control group and the expression of HSP70 increased in the mild hypothermia group ,with statistical significance (P<0.05).ConclusionThe way of continuous trickle of low temperature liquids though the lateral ventricle may decrease the number of the apoptotic cells and increase the expression of HSP70. At the same time, it may improve the animal's nervous system symptom.
